I took the Metro Subway to Albrook Mall to go to TIGO and get a SIM card to use with my phone while in Panama. All went well even though we couldn't understand each other. He used Google Translate and we texted back and forth. It was a success! And it was only $5.35 USD for 7 days with internet!

Since this was my first time to Albrook Mall, I got a little confused, so please use my experience to help make yours better!

Get on the Metro Subway and take it all the way to the last stop. Go up the escalator and take the overpass walking bridge. Take the escalator down into the National Transportation Hub. Go directly straight through the large lobby of the Transportation Hub and go up the stairs. Cross an overpass walking bridge to enter into Albrook Mall. You will be on the second floor of a large food court. This is what you will look for when returning back to your home base.

When you finish your adventure in the Albrook Mall and go back to the Metro Subway, you will be required to have a face shield as well as a face mask (at this point in our COVID saga). Make sure you have one or the authorities will set you aside. No worries! Our experience was very pleasant with them. But, just get the face shield!!

Albrook Mall looks like it has taken an economic hit due to COVID, with some store fronts closed and dark. That did not stop locals from spending their hard-earned money there. It was crowded on the Monday afternoon that I visited.

Even if the Mall is not on your list of things to do, it will be very helpful to you to know how to use the Metro Subway and to know where the National Transportation Hub is located. They have busses that leave for all parts of Panama every day! If you want to explore all of Panama, this is THE PLACE you can do it cheaply!

Visited four times during my stay and got lovely clothing from Steven's and Aeropostale under $20 per item. Just missing a map to locate stores conveniently.

Great place for seafood of all kinds. On the water. The restaurants are all next to each other and the employees will compete for your business. Our food is great and service was wonderful.

On the downside is that parking is terrible.

Absolutely fantastic. Paintings and sculptures capture the lively true colours of Panama. Carlos is a gem, very friendly and super knowledgeable on Panamian art and culture.

The museum is currently hosting an exhibition of works entitled 'Una Invasión in 4 Tiempos/An Invasion in 4 Tenses' marking the 30th anniversary of the US invasion of Panama in 1989. Many of the pieces from the 'ManiObras/MANeuvers' series by local artist Isabel de Obaldía, inspired by the events preceding, during and following the invasion, have pride of place; I was particularly taken with her painting 'Desterrado/Exiled'. The video art by Donna Conlon and Jonathan Harker also engaged me, which such installations rarely do.

We were welcomed on arrival by a very friendly member of staff with excellent English who gave us a rundown of the exhibition and informed us that admission was free but that donations were welcome. Needless to say we popped some dollars in the box before we left.

The museum is small and manageable: we spent just over an hour exploring its spaces. Since it is neither downtown nor in Casco Antiguo, we decided the easiest way to get to and from it would be by Uber.

Plenty to do and big food court at base of the mall. Lot of good stores and more Panamanian than bigger malls.

There are like 3 clothing stores b4 titans...really worth going to...most reviews online said to expect characters....everyone was friendly...but I did try to fit in as much as possible...dressing like I lived there and not speaking unless necessary...as i didn't know much Spanish...enjoyed the trip !

I was wondering to buy “molas” embroiders make by the Indians Guna. Don’t by in the first, you should walk around to ask how much each mola is in different stores at the market! The prices are different and you can bargain!!!!

The view of this mini-city was amazing in terms of the architecture, the town-planning, the food options available and the myriad number of stalls.
