- Jairo GPanama City, Panama200 contributionsBeer & Rock! Perfect combo.
Come here for good artisan beer and stay for the live music everyday. It's only rock & roll, but you'll love it!Written December 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Each beer was expertly crafted and had its own unique taste and aroma. I was particularly impressed with the IPA, which had a bold hop flavor and a smooth finish.
In addition to the beer, the food was also top-notch. The menu offers a variety of pub-style dishes.
I was also impressed with the level of customer service I received. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure that I was comfortable and happy with my experience. They took the time to chat with me and offer recommendations, which made me feel valued as a customer.Written February 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I asked about Calle 4 address as i had seen a Vulcancitas location on Google. He isn't sure HOW Trip Adviser got it wrong. It is behind Schumann Restaurant and he opened the gate for our taxi after telling confused taxi how to find him.
WOW! Because it was about to rain we did the wildlife preserve tour first. The grounds are those of a 60 year old coffee plantation so much of what grows was brought in and has flourished. Ronan knows a wealth about so much of the vegetation but he really shines in his interaction w/ the injured or temporarily homed wildlife on the premises. Each has a lovely enclosure while in residence and are not shy!!!
SO! You came for rum, not 'creatures'? Ronan's skills as a distiller come from boyhood in Barcelona and the knowledge and passion he shows for the process are most impressive! The distillation of Yucca, for instance, is wildly difficult and is done for the joy of exclusively (& it tastes quite unique!). Their small barrel process is quite rare as well, but allows them to age wonderfully flavorful rum (tasted 3, one a coffee blend that isn't anything like any OTHER coffee- liquors, most of which are 25% sugar ; ugh).
We came away w/ a $40 bottle that we'll share only w/ special people...while recounting the enjoyment of a couple of hours very well spent.Written December 19, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tres Gatos is a place for craft beers. They do have a pretty good selection.
It would be ideal for the discerning craft beer drinker but I am not one of them. However, I did enjoy a couple of their draft pour. It was good.
The atmosphere is quaint. Homely feel and the owners/staff were very friendly.
Would swing by here for another afternoon....for sure. Good thing is we Uber both ways.
