Thoroughly enjoyable experience taking cocoa beans, roasting them, cracking them open, mixing the ingredients and enjoying a chocolate bar as well as visiting the museum and the gift shop

He had participated in the conflict in the 1980s and gave a very passionate and detailed account of Nicaragua’s recent history in perfect English.

The museum is well worth a visit to be fair and if you have the time you should call as you will learn a lot about the local area and it's volcanic past - and present!

Ometepe is rural and fairly small destination and it was interesting to find the museum, it was nice to see artifacts found on the property, nice visit and very educational

We enjoyed the pre-Colombian pottery and statuary, the brilliantly decorated doors from Granada’s colonial era homes, the art paying tribute to Ruben Dario, and the dioramas celebrating Nicaraguan culture.
Come and learn of Nicaragua´s culture and history, you can visit the museum yourself but a guide will show you even better about all the artifacts in the museum.

I also liked that there's a whole room in the museum devoted to the creator of the museum and why the culture and history of Nicaragua mattered so much to her.
