A multi use recreation are with cycle ways, beaches, walkways and coveted spaces to relax in. Ada Ciganlija is a large approximately 8km around the water edge. Lots of restaurants and bars too. If you have any spare time when visiting Belgrade, a few hours in this local beauty spot is ideal.

This time we were at Belgrade just for overnight and had some rush to see most of it. However, when we arrive to Kalemegdan Fortress, that’s it. Danube, which is one the most important rivers in Europe was hugging the Sava River. Reminded me Mosel and Rhine at Deutsche Eck.

As the fortress on the upper part of the city, views was amazing.

Even though I had the chance to visit "new Belgrade" (near the bus station) in the evening, I was very pleasantly surprised by what I saw. It seems like a different city, one of my friends even saw some resemblance with Dubai.
The promenade next to the river is well-maintained and perfect for a stroll. I liked the light projections and wall paintings nearby as well.

This is an amazing place full of different trees. The air is fresh and it's a bit cooler(not to say colder) than in the city. No words needed, just amazing Mother nature! It has a restaurant, so if you are hungry you can eat there and also enjoy yourself in local music performed live by musicians.

The zoo was small but had a great variety of animals. There was a very strong foul odor through most of it and we came early in the morning after breakfast was served…. Our small child was a bit shocked to see what the big birds ate.

Once a royal hunting grounds ,it was supposedly named after red deer.Today there are no more deer but lot of species of bird.
Protected as a moment of nature and a favorite area of leisure and relaxation ,it also houses sport and recreation swimming pools and sky slopes..
At the foot of the hill is the legendary Hajduk Fountain
dating back to the 18th century, which is one of the oldest with natural spring water.
Near here Mihailo Obrenovic ,Prince of Serbia was assassinated
In 1968 ,giving Kosutjnak additional importance as an historical
    site.
    Must see in Belgrade.

On one corner of the island there is a small beach, with poor supporting objects, there is not even place to xhange the cloths. But most of the island is swampy wood, with a round path along the island.

This is a pleasant park that is a short walk over the river from the Old Town. We enjoyed seeing the eternal flame statue that is about the victims of the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. There is a shopping centre nearby.
