Massive fortress located on top of a hill right next to the confluence of Sava River with Danube. Obviously, a key strategic place in the country - this is probably why it was founded in the 3rd century BC and defended ever since. It worth visiting mainly for the views over Belgrade and Zemun. The most spectacular sight is the confluence of Danube with Sava River. Cruise ships mooring at the Sava quay and various boats floating on Danube can be spotted from the belvedere point next to Victor monument.
There are some kiosks within the citadel walls from one can buy beer, soft drinks and popcorn.
The fortress is surrounded by a large park with old shady trees and host a military museum, a water well dating back from Roman era and a clock tower among other monuments. Strolling in and around the fortress is a nice way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon in Belgrade. The entrance is free.

Large park with old shady trees covering the top of a hill, around the Belgrade Fortress. The fortress itself is actually located inside the park. It worth visiting mainly for the views over Belgrade. The most spectacular sight is the confluence of Danube with Sava River. Cruise ships mooring at the Sava quay and various boats floating lazy on the Danube can be spotted from the park. There are some kiosks from one can buy beer, soft drinks and popcorn. Watching the sunset from a bench in the park, with a can of local beer in one hand and some popcorn in the other was a relaxing experience. While strolling in the park, we discovered some interesting statues, like the one of a fisherman fighting a snake. Overall, it's a good place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.

A multi use recreation are with cycle ways, beaches, walkways and coveted spaces to relax in. Ada Ciganlija is a large approximately 8km around the water edge. Lots of restaurants and bars too. If you have any spare time when visiting Belgrade, a few hours in this local beauty spot is ideal.

Extraordinary experience. I visited at 5 pm on a Sunday and there was a service going. It is a standing service. I was welcomed in. As a female I expected that I would need to cover my head as in other countries, but the women at this church didn’t cover their heads. Absolutely beautiful and stunning!!

Great view, away from the city center.
It is a bit hard to get here by public transportation and the best way is either if you rented a car or if you know some locals who can take you there

Great river in the city of Belgrade. There are places where you can swim (but not everywhere). There are also a lot of Splavovi and great views over the whole city.

Josip Broz Tito Mausoleum is the place, where rest the President of the Yugoslavia disappeared country during almost all existence of this country (the building is known as House of Flowers). Here, you can see the mausoleum and some information about their life. In fact, it is very interesting to know the recent history of Serbia and their surrounded countries. Also, in the full complex, you can visit some expositions about Yugoslavia and some gifts, which Tiro received during his life. Very interesting all, but sometimes it seems a tribute to president/dictator

Nearly empty when I was there so no trouble moving about and seeing the exhibits. Ancient history well covered and more recently quite good but nothing on 20th century developments. Some nice paintings if nothing special and you can see why recent Yugaslav painting is justly neglected.

Relaxing walk along Danube river for a few kilometers. There are a lot of floating restaurants, bars and cafés lined up by the river, so you can pick one for a snack and a drink if you get tired. We picked Savana Café, which proved to be a good choice.
Great for jogging or cycling, as well as for birdwatching.

Free outdoor museum that's part of the Belgrade Fortress complex (also free to tour), with a number of tanks, cannons, and various artillery to check out. Definitely worth a perusal if you're visiting the fortress anyway, or maybe even as a specific trip to see some historical war items.

Very interesting small Orthodox church, which is located within the Belgrade Fortress. The first church was built in the 15th century, and the existing building was reconstructed in 1925.
