An oasis of calm and peacefulness in Old Town.

Stavropoleos Monastery is an Eastern Orthodox monastery and though it's small, it's architecture, murals and stonework is a testament to Byzantine tradition.

The courtyard is beautiful and peaceful and must be the place to be during the spring/summer.

The interior is decorative, calm, and peaceful, a refuge if you want to escape from the crowds and busy streets of Bucharest.

We did not go inside but we did enjoy a free walk around the grounds. Very easy to get to and very helpful security.
We visited the national museum of contemporary art afterwards, which is on another wing of the palace.
    Very pretty.

A nice spot to learn some Romanian history and how they've come to be!
A lot of houses from around the regions of Romania with fully furnished interiors. Most houses you cannot go in.
Be wary that this is a cash only venue, 30 lei was entry. Also it is a lot of walking! Bring snacks and a drink and plenty of time.

Lipscani is one of the main thoroughfares through Bucharest's Old Town district. As you'd expect, it's full of places to eat and drink, mixed in with shops, and the occasional church or civic building. The streets are mostly cobbled. It's a bit touristy, but very nice all the same.

Brilliant exhibition with lots of interesting history behind it. The curator was very enthusiastic and informative and kindly spent time with us explaining the connections between each room in the museum and the historical facts behind them. Also very reasonably priced for the service provided.

It’s not a mansion, a little palace. Worth seeing to analyse the era. The female guide was very good, ask questions. There is a nice cafe in the garden and a little shop.

Very interesting museum. It is certainly the most interesting, or more precisely, most well documented and presented we went in Bucharest. It is informative with the good amount of information. There are QR code for people wanted more information as a nice lady here to answer additional questions. We also tried Romanian communist version of coffee : Nechezol.
