Stavropoleos Monastery is an Eastern Orthodox monastery and though it's small, it's architecture, murals and stonework is a testament to Byzantine tradition.
The courtyard is beautiful and peaceful and must be the place to be during the spring/summer.

We visited the national museum of contemporary art afterwards, which is on another wing of the palace.

A lot of houses from around the regions of Romania with fully furnished interiors. Most houses you cannot go in.
Be wary that this is a cash only venue, 30 lei was entry. Also it is a lot of walking! As you'd expect, it's full of places to eat and drink, mixed in with shops, and the occasional church or civic building. The streets are mostly cobbled.
