My friend and I just returned from a 2 week vacation to Croatia. We chose to spend 5 nights in Zagreb, and the highlights of our stay involved our tours with Karlo. We first spent the day with him on a private tour to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Karlo picked us up near our Airbnb, and proceeded to teach us about the history of Croatia in a manner that was interesting and informative throughout the day. On our way to the lakes, we stopped at a charming small village called Rastoke. We then saw all of the lakes in the national park, and had time to stop for a lovely picnic that Karlo brought for us to enjoy from his family's home. On our way back from the park, Karlo took us to an incredible family run restaurant that ended up being one of our favorite meals of the trip. My friend has wanted to go to Plitvice since she was a child, and we are appreciative of how wonderful Karlo treated us/ how special the day was. We had such a great time that we arranged to do another tour with Karlo on the final day of our trip. On this tour, Karlo picked us up again near our apartment, then drove us to our first stop (Samobor). Here we had a lovely little hike to the castle ruins, and enjoyed a stroll around town as well as cream cake. We then had an amazing guided wine tasting at a nearby vineyard. The owner was friendly , and we liked every wine that we tried. His wife made us an amazing charcuterie spread. Karlo showed us around the vineyard, and he took some great pictures of us. He went above and beyond in helping us get to the airport the next day. I highly recommend booking a tour(s) with Karlo during your time in Croatia. He is kind, thoughtful, fun and intelligent, and it is clear that he is passionate about the work he does. Thank you for making our time so special! We hope to return soon.
