- Neil KLiverpool, UK829,647 contributionsI loved the architecture in Zagreb ,one building that caught my eye was Moderna Galerija .
A great looking art exhibition museum ,the building is clearly influenced by the architecture of the once mighty Austro- Hungarian Empire ,I originally thought it was a theatre building ,such a photogenic building that adds to the joy of walking around this part of the city ,it's easy to locate along Ulica Andrije Habranga and well worth checking out if you're in the area.Written March 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. His ability to put a twist of humour on many issues will produce lots of smiles and plenty of laughs. Don’t miss this Croatian treasure when you are in Zagreb.Written September 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ginges_revengeBrisbane, Australia5,859 contributionsIt was a shame about a lot of central European places we visited that there was a lot of graffiti on beautiful building which detracted from lovely architecture. This was another of those places. It looks lovely from afar but when you get closer, you can see its covered in graffiti which is a shame as its a lovely building. we didn't go in and just had a look from the outside. A nice building in a nice square. It has a nice fountain just outside it as well.Written August 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert LAmherst, MA1,616 contributionsI didn't expect much but the paintings on glass were excellent. This is really local folk art. Very striking when the paintings are lit from behind. Recommended! I didn't care for the sculptures.Written September 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DzenySarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina598 contributionsUnfortunately, the exhibit we wanted to see was already gone, so we saw a completely different one.
I really enjoyed the copper engraving and etching paintings, since I know HOW MUCH WORK they take.
Make sure to check for the current exhibition on the day of your arrival.

- Bradley Tindy5,647 contributionsWe checked out a few shops specializing in naïve Croatian art but found what we wanted in this shop. Although they will ship to america the person who normally does that wasn't there and we had no confidence class would ship that far unbroken.
So we settled on our 2nd and 3rd choices which were smaller but could be carried by us on the plane. Good selection, good prices, helpful staff.Written January 17, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We wandered in, literally, and were met so graciously by the docent. This gallery contains a collection of a very unique artist, Mijo Kovacic. He uses oils and paints on glass with the reverse(unpainted side) the actual finished picture. He must pain in layers, starting first with his signature. The color is often intense and the subject matter unusual. The six of us were transfixed and stayed far longer than intended. The Gallery is run by a foundation and admission is free, plus visitors are given this wonderful handout regarding his history and art and very small copies of many of his works.Written October 7, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
