- Ron SNew York City, NY5,751 contributionsThe structure is impressive but belltowers are fully covered with scaffolds and the cathedral is closed for renovation so tourists are not allowed inside.Written September 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ron SNew York City, NY5,751 contributionsCroatian National Theatre is a great imposing building in the middle of a large square. The architectural style of Zagreb's old town is the Imperial Austro-Hungarian style and the town reminds Vienna very much of course. The theater fits the environment perfectly. We haven't been inside though. Some 200 feet in front of the front of the building there's an interesting statue/fountain by Ivan Mestrovic.Written September 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SwedishtomcatDiss, UK4,473 contributionsThe station building is in need of some attention and renovation to return it to its former glory. If you do like railways then you’ll certainly be able to spot commuter, express and freight trains here.Written February 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - macedonboyGlasgow, UK185,662 contributionsThis Baroque palace is the parliament of Croatia. It stands amongst a host of government buildings in St. Mark's Square and looks innocuous if it wasn’t for the Baroque facade. Another reviewer mentioned tours, but I could not find anything on the parliament website.Written May 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - macedonboyGlasgow, UK185,662 contributionsThis building belongs to the Academy of Music, part of the University of Zagreb. It is the oldest and most prestigious music school in Zagreb, tracing its origins back to 1829 when the Zagreb Musical Society's school was established. The building is an interesting glass block of modern architecture and almost innocuous but for the roof which gives the impression of the aurora lights in the background. Looks amazing in a photo.Written May 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Andr3a1oZagreb, Croatia1,144 contributionsThe house was built by an architect from Zagreb, Vjekoslav Bastl. Its façade is lined with yellow - blue ceramic tiles.
It was the home of Joseph Kallina, owner and director of the pottery factory.
It is located at the corner of Masarykova and Gundulić Street in the wider center area in Zagreb.Written November 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Zagreb has the Grand style European buildings which are magnificent, but are they worth going inside.
A local guide can provide that perspective because it all comes down to time available.
We wandered on foot around the GREEN HORSESHOE & would have appreciated a guiding hand. Apart from photo opportunities we obviously left with only a superficial view & wondering about the buildings' history & role.
Hope this viewpoint helps you create a tour that is unique.Written November 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Prišlin's Tower, the former northwestern defensive tower of Kaptola, was built at the beginning of the 16th century. It is located in a small park at the end of Opatovina. - Neil KLiverpool, UK829,679 contributionsWalking around the wonderful Upper Town of the city I loved looking at the wonderful buildings to be found ,one that caught my eye was Zagreb Old Town Hall.
Old Town Hall ( Stara Gradska Vijecnica ) is actually three buildings that looks superb ,joined up in the 19th century this is a very photogenic building and a bit if a tourist attraction as it has a monument in honour of Nikola Tesla on the facade ,well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Ciriometodska Ulica.Written April 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - edwardvosMilan, Italy3,233 contributionsIt is said that the Kaptol Walls and the Fortress were built to resist Ottoman attacks and turned Zagreb into an impregnable bastion. In Kaptol Street stands the north-eastern tower, which dates back to the 15th century, while the north-western tower, called Prišlin Tower, is a construction from the end of the 17th century. The houses mostly date back to the 18th century: the most beautiful is from 1710; the oldest, from 1498, is the Lektorova kurija.Written September 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neil KLiverpool, UK829,679 contributionsI loved the architecture in Zagreb and especially up in the Upper Town ,one building that caught my eye was Dverce Palace.
A wonderful and old former aristocrat town house now used I believe for civic functions , a wonderful exterior ,never ventured inside ,don't think I could but I was content to take some photos before moving on ,it's easy to locate along Katarinin Trg and well worth checking out if you're in the area.Written April 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I loved the look of this building ,it's clearly influenced by the architecture of the once mighty Austro-Hungarian Empire ,the facade is really pleasing on the eye ,great stonework ,atop the building is a superb winged statue that adds a touch of class to the building ,it's such a photogenic piece of architecture and most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Trg Kralja Tomislava.Written March 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
