A spectacular Sunday service with the church choir makes this majestic cathedral even grander than its golden dones and dramatic iconography.

The area reached from the Maritsa River on the North Side is busier and a bit more interesting than the Southside. Also parking is easier from the Northside, both metered and pay-lots. Bring good shoes and a walking stick. The cobblestones are treacherous.
Many art museums of varying quality. Many National Revival buildings to visit if interested.
The "Street of Crafts" is mostly tourist junk, however Old Town Plovdiv remains unspoiled compared to the hideous commercialization of Nessebur, on the Black Sea Coast.
You can easily spend 2 full days wandering the Old Town. Most business have someone who is multi-lingual, and in general "welcoming."

We spent 2 hours in Sozopol and we loved it. Such a beautiful sea city. The walk in the Old town was very pleasant, passing around those old houses and then walking on the seaside. The views are on incredible. Prepare for a bit overpriced stuff.

Bansko is a lovely small town with many rental ski shops, restaurants, fast food shops and supermarkets. It is very lively with friendly local people who run these shops.

The stone forest near Varna is not a petrified forest however it is petrified coral. Still worth the visit though: it is an extremely eerie place

One of Sofia's little gems. Definitely you should visit the catacomb below the church at which you can write a note with your wishes. Later on you can pray at the tomb of Saint Nicolas and leave your note on a special wooden box. The atmosphere over there is really something worthy to experience.

The 19th cent. Holy Trinity Church dominates the pedestrian Pirin St in Bansko center.
You'll easily spot it by its bell tower - the highest bldg in town.
Access is through the courtyard and modest exterior hides stunning beauty inside - terrific iconostasis by the altar with many beautiful frescoes around.
Really must do when in Bansko.

One of the things to visit, close to Varna. Impresive carving in the stone. There are some stairs to climb but will worth it.

The main road of Sofia has lots to offer. Variety of restaurants for all taste like italian, turkish, thai and chinese cuisine can satisfy anyone. If you are lucky enough to walk across it on a night with good temperature then you will enjoy it to the maximum.

The walk from the city center to this place was hectic but worth it. The place is amazing and the church was different than any other places of worship I have ever seen.

Tips for get there from Sofia bybpublic buses. You must come to Dupnitsa and then at 14:15 there is a bus to Rila monastery. You will arrive at 15:45 at the monastery and the bus is going back at 17:00 to Dupnitsa. 1 hour is enough to enjoy the beauty of the monestery and the nature around him.

Really beautiful and peaceful place with painted wall. Interesting (for children) story of st. George's life. Fruit tree garden. Near to the main road. Worth to see.

This was a beautiful church. You can also go inside although visit would be quite short as the church is not large; we didn't as our 15 year old would be bored. Lovely to visit though and sit outside admiring it and nice morning out away from the city itself.
