Exhibition consists of many historical items and beautiful wall paintings. - armandot563Merida, Venezuela6 contributionsFortunately, the weather favored us; this time there was no rain, no hail, but a spectacular clear sky until late afternoon. In a holiday season, like this one, it is common to observe an important concentration of tourists, some in comfortable cars or couples in high-displacement bikes. Therefore, it still amazes us to see some crazy people arrive by bicycle. It is fun to appreciate how they observe you and even approach you as if you were a being from another planet. Enjoy the landscape until you reach the site can be more rewarding than the site itself, unless it has recently snowed. If you are acclimated to exercise at high elevations, a trip to the picturesque town of Piñango is a fantastic option. Also, if you like hiking, you can do from there spectacular routes through the Sierra de La Culata National Park. It has a beautiful view of the rest of the city and the beautiful sky and crepusculos that has only the city of Barquisimeto. - Charmy UVancouver, Canada7 contributionsWe were able to see the soldiers practicing, the statues, the areas where public ceremonies are held. We enjoyed the little lake with its turtles, big fish and Muscovy ducks and the playgrounds nearby. We noticed there were various recreational facilities for sports, both indoor and outdoor. There was a hotel and convention centre already and another under construction. This army is the only army created to liberate and not invade.
Besides the paintings on the roof are extraordinary. Painted by Tito Salas. Made in huge canvases these have may not envy any European painter of that time. Spectacular! there is a guide that has been there all his life and this is very inspiring. It is essential to visit the spectacular "Aula Magna" (theater) to admire its beautiful ceiling covered with the clouds of the artist Alexander Calder and the stained glass windows of the main Library of the artist Fernand Leger. - Eij1Canada286 contributionsLocated in the affluent neighborhood of Altamira, this place is a nice place to people watch. You can just sit down and watch the day go by while observing what the surroundings have to offer.
It's located adjacent to the metro and the tall monument is beautiful. I was there in December 2019 when it was lit up with the colors of the Venezuelan flag and it was beautiful to watch. There was a concomitant food expo event occurring.

It is located in Santa Rosa parroquia . The place is touristic and have some security in the neighborhood because a Police Station. The area is filed with small Spanish restaurants from the Spaniards that emigrated to Venezuela after the Civil war on Spain and the WWII. The area is not safe but has some character. This church contains the remains of a well venerated man from 19th century consider in the Venezuelan folklore as a Saint, Jose Gregorio Hernandez. It was a GP famous for helping poor people and even let them pay him with hens and food instead of money. One of the curios things about his live is that he died ran over by the only car in Caracas City at that time.
