Wow at last to be in Inca Land! So interesting and fabulous to be here with all the history. How on earth did the Incas manage to move these giant stones? Unbelievable. View from the ancient fortress looking down into Cuzco, amazing.

Surrounded by mountains and with some of its neighborhoods on the slopes of these mountains, the historic center of Cusco is a place of singular beauty.

This Church & convent of Santo Domingo is built on the foundations of the original Inca temple that the Spanish destroyed on conquering the locals. They used the materials from the temple to construct other churches & buildings in Cusco. The temple was stripped of all its gold to pay the ransom to have their chief released but we know how well that worked out? Sadly, no photos are allowed but the place is very memorable, and evidence of the Incan workmanship is still evident today!

Beautiful Cathedral and well worth a visit but like all cathedrals, they are all beautiful. Staying in Cuzco though, you had to go see it.

Great neighbourhood with lots of beautiful shops displaying artwork. Less busy than the central square. Be sure to walk to the viewpoint for a view of Cusco and the mountains that surround.

Absolutely outstanding. The presentation about Incan astronomy was very informative and interesting. The views of the moon and planets through their telescopes were worderful.

Added this to my agenda at the last minute.
Hence booked it through GA adventures.

The experience was nothing short of incredible.

GA adventures guides (I don’t recall their names ) were very great.

I think the breakfast and lunch can be improved.

I always worry when my wife gets loose in a market as it normally means heavier baggage & lighter wallet? This Cusco market was pretty packed and basically had everything on offer! Our guide took us to a fruit stall, and we tasted several varieties of local produce for a couple of Sol each, great value! We wandered around for ages and while tempted, I escaped it fiscally secure.

I was thoroughly impressed by the collection the museum held of artifacts. I loved how the museum was curated as you venture through materials (wood, stone, metal) and through the various cultures that isn't just Inca. I loved seeing how different visually the styles were depending on the culture. The museum has a video intro at the beginning to give you a bit of history before you venture into the galleries. I would definitely recommend checking out the museum if you have an hour or two to spare in town.

You cannot go wrong with Waliki Tours. They made my trip to Cusco run perfect. From communication, to setting up a perfect itinerary for our needs, everything was on point! We spent 6 Days 5 Nights including a one day trip to Puno. Everything was well arranged and we never felt lost. We were even given goodie bags and lunch boxes! I will definitely use Waliki Tours in the future. Thank you for making my son's first trip to Cusco a memorable one! Oh! and they also gave us a fun photo session!!!

    Loved this.

The water on the stones was especially nice to see.

A pleasant stroll along the path to see the stones and at an easy pace - no hills which makes a difference.

We were given a nice tour in English by one of their volunteers. While this is a true animal rescue and not a zoo, some of the enclosures are quite small, but I do believe they are doing the best that they can with the space and resources they have. Seeing the condors fly overhead was amazing! You don’t appreciate how large they are until you see it in person. There are a few shops and a small cafe as well for refreshments and souvenirs.
