Must visit when you go to Cusco, the Center Historico is perfect for spending an afternoon walking or just seating.

Spent many hours here. All different types of restaurants and things to buy. For better prices go to San Pedro's market a few minutes from the Plaza.

You need to be in form to climb all the way there, but worth it. It is a beautiful tour in Cusco and kind of a loop from the center and coming back from the other side.

This market is pretty big to me in that vendors are spilling outside the physical structure of the market. There are many things to buy here including juice, clothing and food to name a few. I highly recommend coming here.

Small but mighty gallery/museum. Laura's work is stunning and you get to observe several pieces, plus a video that gives you a little bit of his background and process. So many beautiful works of art in textiles. The staff is super attentive and even provided a little "tour" talking about some of the pieces. Nothing formal, though. The wonderful gentleman that welcomed us (unfortunetely I forgot his name) noticed how interested we were in Laura's work and went above and beyond to provide us with the little tour. It helped that we speak Spanish fluidly.

It's a mini of Christ the Redeemer in Rio and Christ the King in Lisbon. It's smaller but NOT small, it's still quite large. Overlooks the city of Cusco and next to it are 3 crucifixes representing Christ and the 2 sinners. Beautiful views of the city.

The title says it all. I found it casually on Google maps when I was looking for places to visit and this one popped up. After knowing the history it does sound interesting. Cool place to snap a picture but i have no idea what people mean by puma and snake. I didn’t see either.

I really liked everything very well organized, in general everything beautiful.
You can also find many local works of art and textiles, which are excellent qualities. I bought some really nice wood carvings in a frame that describes the sights and daily activities of a local person.

This is a very busy road, starting from Plaza de Armas towards the bus station and full of lively activities. There are many money exchange places along this road.

Take your time and stroll along the cobblestoned narrow streets flanked - on both sides - by stonewalls at the awesome "Centro Histórico" of Cusco. These streets are considered masterpieces of the ancient Incan masonry and urban design. They have survived centuries of earthquakes and other natural disasters, principally due to the fantastic Incan architecture and construction techniques. No wonder, Unesco has appointed, in 1983, the historical center of Cusco as a "World Heritage Site"! Unmissable! Enjoy!

Right at Cusco's "Centro Histórico", you will find "Plaza Regocijo"! The area was part of the ancient great Incan square known as "Huakaypata", which was occupied and divided by the Spanish conquerors into three different squares - "Plaza de Armas", "Plaza de La Merced" and "Plaza Regocijo", itself. The actual square dates from 1555 and is surrounded by several colonial buildings, with the traditional arcades commonly seen in Spain's similar "plazas". The most outstanding building - the "Palacio del Cabildo" - housed Cusco's city hall and now is the local convention center. Many trees and a colorful fountain complete the scene. Around "Plaza Regocijo", some of the best restaurants of Cusco! Enjoy!

Maestro Mendivil was brought up in San Blas disrict, frequently played with lamas which impressed the child with their long necks: so when he started painting madonnas and saints, they all had necks ever more elongated than El Greco´s.WIth so much mass kitsch, a growing global phenomenon, it was great to encounter many great works at affordable prices.
