This tour has many good reviews.
This is another one.
Great support/prep info from the company by WhatsApp.
Michael and Luis were both fantastic and entertaining guides, well read and knowledgeable. Thank you!
The morning starts are early, but worth it to get the good views etc.
There are the usual "cultural exhibition/shopping" stops o Day 1, but you do not have to buy anything if your conscience operates that way... We bought 5 alpaca wool toques.
There is a fair amount of climbing on each day. Consider getting an altitude sickness prophylaxis prescription to make it easier on you if you do not have 48 hours to acclimatize in Cusco before the tour - it's no joke, even for the youngs.
Small group size was nice.
The microbus was very clean.
If you can swing it, go for the panorama view train option.
Pack light.
The hotel choice at Aguas Calientes is perfectly acceptable for the amount you are paying - a clean room, good location, sounds of the small river easing you to sleep, and baggage storage for the day of your tour.
Bring good complete sun coverage or be prepared to apply a lot of lotion unless you are restricted to going during the wet season. And bug repellant - if you get a message to bring some, do not ignore it. Or your ankles/wrists during application.
And bring your best camera (phone or dedicated) to do Machu Pichu justice when you are showing the folks at home.
This combination of Sacred Valley and MP was worth every penny.
