I have booked many a tour through TripAdvisor in my travels, and this is the best one I've ever done! The lunch that was included was absolutely delicious, and everyone was patient with showing me the whole process of gathering alpaca wool, cleaning it, spinning it into yarn, and dyeing it. I even got to weave my own bracelet. The yarn you dye and the bracelet you weave are yours to keep! Plus, they had an excellent selection of alpaca products for sale at a fair price, and the organization helps to support single mothers. If you're in Cusco, this is an absolute MUST DO! I cannot recommend more!!!!!!!

We joined the weaving workshop at Qaytu Peru. Our guide was Edwin who was great in explaining everything and also translating the guidelines of Francesca and Lucía, our teachers for the day. The experience was one of our favorites in our whole Peru trip! The whole day was filled with new knowledge and fun activities. First we went through some theory and then tried our hand in each of the steps of textile making: collecting plants, preparing the dyes, dyeing and then weaving.

We did appreciate the woven textiles before coming to this workshop but now having tried to weave ourselves, we found it to be so much more complex and amazing. Thank you for this wonderful day, we will remember it forever!

This tour blew me away! From the first moment, Edwin and his team were so professional and generous with their time, knowledge, and patience. Walking with the alpacas was SO much fun, and getting to participate in the dyeing of our own yarn alongside the local weavers was so special. Edwin even offered to take us to a local animal sanctuary we drove past - unfortunately the day ran a little long so we weren’t able to, but it was such a thoughtful offer! I would absolutely take this tour, or another of PPT’s offerings, again!
