Highly recommend adding this cooking class as the first part of a trip to Cusco. Chef Alvaro did a great job of explaining Peruvian culture and history along with the class. He was also able to provide some great suggestions for restaurants and cafes. This class is a great way to spend time acclimating prior to a trek.

The whole experience was amazing. Ronal took us to a local market and let us try different fruit, cheese and the local bread (all very delicious). When we came back to the cooking area, everybody got to cook something. There was always something to do with loads of information about the food and nutritional facts. Instead of two main dishes we prepared three different meals.
At the end we all ate together and we also got to prepare some pisco sour. After the class he sent us not only the recipes of the dishes we made but a lot of extra recipes, plus the facts about the new fruit we tried and a soup recipe which is very common in Peru.
I highly recommend to take the class and everybody should take the opportunity to learn how to cook traditional peruvian dishes.

We had a fantastic time at our cooking class - it was my birthday and they even bought a cake and a candle for me! We learnt a lot and had fun.

Lots of fun...learned a ton about chocolate making!!! Our instructor Gabriel was fantastic, good English and great humor. We were a party of 18 and he managed to keep all of us engaged and working hard to make our own chocolate! If you have time, a free afternoon or morning...recommend this one! Chocolate tasted more bitter than we are use to but it was pure...no artificial sweeteners or additives!

This was a great experience! We happened to have had a private tasting which was nice. Our teacher was clearly passionate and knowledgeable about pisco! It was so interesting to learn. We got to try three kinds of pisco and then make two cocktails!

We experienced this excellent cooking class as a family. The chef Alejandro Castillo talked about all the influences of Peruvian cuisine from the many climates of Perou to the different waves of immigration . We had a great time preparing and then eating a ceviche, a cocktail and lastly the lomo saltado.
A great introduction to the rich diversity of Peru.

We tried for 45 minutes to find the address listed to no avail. The locals including a Hotel concierge and manager did not know if this place even exists. Of all the chocolate tours listed this one looked to be the best. Very disappointing. I was promised a refund from TA several weeks ago. That never happened as well.

We did this cooking class while we were in Peru and it was one of our absolute highlights. Jose was such a wonderful host who taught us how to cook traditional Peruvian dishes. He was funny, informative and made the class extremely enjoyable. The dishes we cooked were so delicious and they were easy enough to replicate back at home.

Jose is an excellent maestro in the history, culture and culinary arts of Peru. We learned about native fruit, indigenous cooking and making the epimonious pisco sour. Shaking and blending our own recipe.
