Green Journey and Manuel made our experience in Cusco easier and more enjoyable than it would otherwise have been. Manuel was the main point of contact and he was super helpful in setting us up with the various tours, and experiences.
These were the things we did:
- full (-ish) day tour of the Sacred Valley (Pisac and Ollantaytambo, mainly). This was as part of a group.
- full day tour of Moray, Maras, Chinchero, with this traditional lunch experience at a home near Cusco. This was a private experience.
Both were amazing experiences.
The tour guide for the Sacred Valley tour was really good at explaining various parts of the Inca culture.
In Pisac market, they drop you off at a store which sells authentic silver jewellery, where the salespeople are a little pushy. This was the only "not great" experience we had.
After that, we were taken to the Pisac ruins and had an hour or so to explore the location.
Then we had lunch in Urubamba, and the place that we were dropped off had spectacular views. Food was pretty good too.
After this, we were taken to Ollantaytambo and the tour guide hiked up to the top with us and explained things on the way.
The second experience was the private driver and cab to take us to Moray, Maras, & Chinchero. Our driver (Jose) was amazing and super respectful and accommodating. He stayed with us as long as we wanted to spend at the various locations. We also had a couple of local food experiences because of Jose (got chicha and some fried pork at the Plaza de Armas in Maras).
After this, we were taken to the traditional lunch experience at Will's place, which was a really good experience too. The food was yum, and the conversations we had were even better. Will's was such a wonderful family.
Overall, I'd highly recommend Green Journey for organizing your tour plans in Cusco. We had a great time with the various experiences.
