Kicker Rock

Puerto Baquerizo Moreno
#1 of 31 Sights & Landmarks in Galapagos Islands
Nice view, local guides are so nice and know a lot! Snorkeling is amazing, I saw turtles, but a woman that made scuba diving could see a lot a marine life including sharks!
Our boat first went around the massive rock formation and we saw sea turtles, sea lions, frigate birds, blue footed boobies, and nazca boobies.

During this guided visit, had the chance to walk through the lava tunnels and after met many tortoises basking in the sun, foraging the grasses and shared with them just the slow pace of their day to day lives.
Some of the paths are a little overgrown, but that adds to the adventure of finding the tortoises in their natural habitat - because that is where they are - their home.

All the local pelicans, herons, frigate birds and sealions are there waiting for the left overs it is really fun to watch as the fisherman toss the off cuts to the wildlife crowd, so funny.
Very amusing sights at the fish market each day as a whole collection of animals and birds line up for a free feed including sea lion/s, pelicans, iguanas and the like.

Beautiful flamingoes punctuate the lagoons, with several other bird species and of course iguanas sunning themselves on the boardwalk or rocks in the lagoon.
Very peaceful walk - some of the boardwalk is shaded which enables you to escape from the blazing sun (The Galapagos are very hot!).

There's even a wee football pitch by the beach, the whole boatload had a kickabout!!! Beautiful beach by the way, lovely to snorkel from.
We found 3 postcards within a couple of hours of our home, and we've already delivered one of them.

However, the Malecon had lots of seals and our daughters enjoyed watching the seals everyday and took plenty of pictures to show their friends.
It stretches from the beach of the sea lions along the shoreline toward the central docks and beyond.

Since they don't see humans as much of a threat, many of their nests are right next to the walking path and they are frequently found walking on the path, themselves!

The air is crisp and smells good, it offers a different rainforest-y atmosphere than the beach/marine vibe of the rest of my experience in the galapagos .
Took us a total of around 2 hours to slowly meander the trail stopping often to take photos.

The statue itself is a bit odd but the views from there and other points along these paths are just stunning.
