- billcarolpearson17 contributionsWe visited on a very hot and humid day so took a taxi from the MRT station which cost $4:80 well worth it. The mamorial is set on a slight incline and a few steps. It was very tranquil with flowers in the middle section, but the outer stones looked a little neglected, but there were staff gradually pressure washing them. But still no flowers. They look so sad! The fallen deserve so much more? When we had paid our respect, we headed bach to the MRT station, which is a downhill walk, but across a couple of busy roads. It took about 15 minutes. Well, it's worth a visit if you're interested in the history of Singapore. The MRT out off the city, and though the suburbs shows how inventive this countrs is to house its population? A thoroughly enjoyable and reflective morning. Remember to take plenty of water. And there are no facilities, so use the MRTs before you leave there?Written October 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lou-ann SSingapore3 contributionsOne of the best ways to understand how hard Singapore founding fathers and mothers protected the country. We are so thankful for what tour guides like Claire & Bianca!!Written March 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ILSGSingapore, Singapore33 contributionsThe walk there from the nearest MRT is interstinging enough, leafy suburban roads with big houses either side.

There is a tomb (I’m guessing it’s more of a cenotaph) to mark the grave of Sultan Iskandar Syah. I couldn’t help but admire the devotion and respect the Malay still accord this place and keep it in such good condition. I wouldn’t go out of the way to visit this unless you’re going to Fort Canning Park though.Written March 10, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jolyon67Melbourne, Australia5,714 contributionsThese two little cemeteries are next to each other just across the street from the Arab Quarter. Hundreds of headstones poke out from deep undergrowth. These two parks are in dire need of some tender loving care. Make sure you bring mosquito repellent, I was badly bitten as I wandered the grounds. Some of the larger mausoleums have columns and ornamental domes, There are even some Sultans buried here. The monuments with yellow cloth tied around their top are the most important, yellow signifying royalty. It is a shame that few people visit here and it is so forgotten.Written May 2, 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
