What travelers are saying
- Stefan VasilevSofia, Bulgaria43 contributionsOverall, this was a well-organized Private tour but we were a bit disappointed by our guide because his English was extremely poor. Half of the time we didn’t know what we need to do and where we need to go next. Apart from that, the islands we visited were all interesting and beautiful. Following are more details about each location.
The pickup went smoothly and we were driven near the docks (a 10-minute ride). Upon arrival, we were introduced to our guide who took us to a nearby market and advised us to buy fish, fruits, and snacks which he then stored in a cooler. We then rented snorkeling equipment for 150P (which is offered by the operator of the boats)and we hopped in the boat and traveled to Naked Island (~20 minutes). The island is interesting but I wouldn’t call it beautiful as there was a lot of seaweed on it. I did some snorkeling and we managed to chill for an hour (as the sun wasn’t super strong).
Next up, we went to ??? Island. There are a lot of restaurants on the island and they all look nice. Our guide recommended one of them and we rented a cabana in it for 250P. They prepared the fish and fruits we bought from Siargao and served them in a fast manner. It was super delicious. We explored the island for an hour which was very interesting and then we set sail to the next island.
After 20 minutes we arrived on ??? island. It is a small island where you can buy cocktails and fresh juice. This was a chill spot which we very much enjoyed. I then swam to the secret sandbar which is ~600 meters away. It took me unexpectedly long but the perk is - there are really interesting snorkeling spots along the way. A started swimming back to the island but since it took so much time to get to the sandbar I was interjected by our boat which transported us back to where our trip started. Afterward, we were transported back to our hotel.
Overall, this was a nice trip but our guide was not interactive and in the rare moments he spoke - we did not understand anything. I would recommend finding a Shared tour when you arrive in Siargao (I don’t see such options on Tripadvisor) because the tourists on the Shared tours seemed to have more fun.Review of: Siargao Island HoppingWritten February 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Erika Rose5 contributionsThe tri island tour is one of the best things to do while in siargao. Takes a full day to complete. You'll go to Guyam, then the last stop would be the Naked Island which is a sand bar. Overall a nice experience. Lunch is served at Daku Island in which it is served in a boodle fight. Would not recommend going in December or during rainy season tho. Lots of canceled flights and rainy days.Review of: Siargao Island Hopping & land TourWritten March 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sarina s2 contributionsFirst of all, don’t do this alone. It’s all couples. Second of all, if you are in General Luna and thinking about doing this tour, please be advised that it’s a 1 hour car ride pending there’s no traffic jams and a 2 hour boat ride from your hotel. That was not made clear in the information that was provided to me and I was honestly pretty upset about it. Had I known travel time was so long I would not have gone, not to mention if you have arthritis or anything at all of that nature where you have achy joints, this is not the tour for you. The seating was so uncomfortable, I personally could barely walk at the end of the day. Also, the jellyfish part of the tour (the part I was most excited about) lasted only 10-15 minutes. We spent more time at caves than anything which was also not made clear to me in the booking, I have a serious fear of caves so had I known about this, again I would not have gone. The lunch that is provided caters to people who eat seafood, which I am allergic to. They had a small bit of chicken that was gone by the time it was my turn so I just had fruits and rice. Also, I ended up getting sun poisoning and threw up a bunch when I got back to my hotel due to lack of sun protection, even though it was overcast, still nursing a fever as well, I did have spf on but no cover on the boats means no true protection which has led to a major burn for me even with spf on. I can’t I’m good conscious recommend this tour. I figure most people will be going for the jellyfish as I did and it was so short lived, it wasn’t even worth all the trouble honestly. The only reason I’m giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is because the jellyfish were cute.Review of: Jellyfish sanctuary and Sohoton cove Full-Day TourWritten May 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stefan VasilevSofia, Bulgaria43 contributionsAlthough this Private tour was well-organized and the places we visited were amazingly beautiful we were disappointed with our tour guide. His English was very poor so most of the time we did not understand what we needed to do or what we are supposed to do next. He was a bit pushy - almost forcing us to take photos in some places. In addition, every place you visit has some additional fees which aren’t big but they quickly add up and are rather annoying. Following are more details about each location.
We were picked up from our hotel in General Luna at 7 AM - it was a 1-hour ride to the Sugba Lagoon entrance. We rented Snorkeling equipment from the dock (150P) and then took a boat through the Lagoon (30 mins). The Lagoon is extremely beautiful and we had a great time (although the boat's motor was quite loud).
We arrived at the famous jump spot and we did quite a lot of jumps. It was pretty early in the morning (9 AM) so we avoided lots of tourists and crowds. We swam around the area since the water was very warm and welcoming. We then rented 2 paddle boards for 300P each (which I really recommend) and started cruising in the lagoon which was a very peaceful and pleasant experience. You can rent canoes here if you’d prefer. They also offer glass-bottom canoes.
We hopped in our boat and made our way to Pamomoan Beach. We were almost forced to rent a cabana there for 300P and buy lunch in a restaurant run by a local family. The beach is pretty small and the restaurant is the only building that you will see there. They offer fresh fish and they cook it very well. Everything was actually delicious - I just wanted the experience to not feel so pushy. The beach environment is amazing - it has the greenest and the softest grass and has beautiful sights to behold and take photos of. I also did some snorkeling but it was rather uninteresting.
We then took our boat and traveled 100 meters away to the nearby island called Kawhagan where we were able to relax for an hour. The environment is very similar to the previous island so I think this could be skipped in general. After our chill time, we took our boat back to the starting dock, and our driver took us to our hotel.Review of: Siargao Sugba Lagoon + Kauhagan Island + Pamomo-an IslandWritten February 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - ciaymoAlbuquerque, NM2 contributionsUnfortunately, the tour guide acted more like an assistant to the driver. She had minimal information of the island and the sites we visited. Moreover, we discovered that she was unvaccinated in the middle of our trip in an air conditioned van with her mask off. We went through so much hassle and spent so much money for tests that Siargao required but our tour guide was not😔Review of: Entire Siargao Land TourWritten October 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - corneliaTabanan, Indonesia4 contributionsSugba Lagoon is nice, if you just go for a short boat ride early in the morning.
There is no need to go to the end, it becomes ridiculously touristy there.
Beware to bring earplugs the motor of the boats is so loud it is quite intensive after a couple of minutes.
Magpupungko is super crowded and really basically trash tourism, same for Maasin River.
I am not sure if there is a place you can go to apart from the main instagrammer spot, but really the main attraction is ridiculous instagramers taking photos that will show a fake reality. Totally underwhelming!
I thought the best places on Siargao where the ones you did not have to pay entry for and where tour guides did not bring you to.
You are better off renting a car and going round the island exploring yourself.Review of: Sugba Lagoon Tour and Magpupungko Rock PoolsWritten April 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
