Doutonbori Street in Osaka is a scintillating area for street food and night life. You can enjoy exploring the crisscross streets for additional restaurants and gift shops. Some adjacent streets seems more geared for shopping. There is also a riverwalk close by where you can take a boat ride. There were costumed characters performing on the bridge.

The place is nice and quite picturesque. I had expected crowds but there weren’t many people as I went there at 4 pm. I think most tourists had already left the place.

This place is free to visit too. If it’s work a while you are in Kyoto.

Beautiful shrine, temple and tons of stalls for shopping souvenirs, snacks and fast food. A great place to people watch but very crowded!

Lovely place to visit. Local restaurants here were not very accommodating to minimal Japnaese speakers. Worth a visit and walk through but may not be the ideal place for planned dinner.

The 5th avenue of tokyo with many luxury stores and brands. Even if you’re not into overpriced stuff, there are many restsurants and cafes, and malls. Plus you can just take a walk and people watch

This is a must visit place in downtown Osaka where one can simply spend a day here to see, shop and eat! And the place is always fulled of visitors, adding vibes and vibrancy to the place.

In our recent revisit to Osaka, we also went there and as we were there early (around 10am), it was not that crowded then but in about an hour's time, it's packed with people.

Lots of cafes, restaurants, eateries, departmental stores, among the boutique, pharmacy and convenience stores are in the area and so you need not worry where to shop or eat!

One of the landmarks of Tokyo. The district has a lot of attractions, as well as a big amount of tech stores. Got a feeling, that most of the things there are overpriced. You can get better deals if you happen to travel to Osaka for example.

Aside from that - must visit and take a walk in the area. Maybe try some arcades or maiden cafes if that's your thing

We arrived at night but this is one of the first things I saw when we arrived in the area. There is a great walkway near the area and you can get close to the statue. Walking around in the evening and I can imagine everything is hoping during the day.

Perfect for solo travellers, couples or families. We took the Yokohama Air Cabin ( cable car) and explored the Shinko District side. This side has something for everyone. Walk through Hammerhead Park (it’s a shopping centre) and finish your visit with an awesome view of the Port of Yokohama.

Recommended for solo travellers, couples and families. This is a charming Chinatown, super clean, packed with take-away shops and restaurants. We visited between 2-4 pm and it wasn’t very busy. Rest menus have photos but not text in English.

…to explore, especially the narrower backstreets. Loads of different restaurants to find plus the big shopping centres and shrines everyone knows already.

Omotesando is Tokyo's elegant boulevard, known for its upscale boutiques and architecturally striking facades. A leisurely stroll along this avenue is a treat for fashion enthusiasts and design lovers. While it caters to high-end shopping, it's equally enjoyable for window shopping and soaking in the artistic storefronts that make Omotesando a stylish urban experience.

If one visited during the annual Kobe Port fireworks in October then this would be an option to watch the show, albeit partially blocked, but less crowded.

We liked the layout of the shops and on the first floor there were small bridges from the street to the store entrances. That was a nice feature.

A large Ferris wheel anchored one end and views of Kobe Port, Kobe Port Tower were clear with lots of outdoor seating (both on the second and ground levels) to hang out. Cruise ships were also seen boarding and departing nearby.

Shopping included mostly Japanese brands, ie Muji, but Western, ie Banana Republic, in addition to restaurants (sit down and fast food). A Ghibli store was here as well for fans like us.

Worth a stop to visit and a short 5 minute walk from Kobe Station.

A beautiful traditional quarter lined with old buildings and lots of shops. Be prepared for a lot of tourists, though.

An interesting area in downtown Sapporo filled with bars and restaurants offering all types of food, certainly worth a visit at night when the lights come on and the area becomes very lively.
