- Reuben J219 contributionsGreat views across the bay, the beach and Mt Fjui from the top of the Sea Candle. Nice little cafe at the base of the Sea Candle. You can pay the admission fee at the start of the escalators at the bottom of the hill on a combined ticket that includes using the escalators, the Samuel Cocking garden and the Sea Candle.Written May 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ZimminaroundtheworldOkinawa Prefecture, Japan1,765 contributionsThe lighthouse area and coastline here is absolutely beautiful! The lighthouse itself is pretty, reminded me of some of the ones in New England. I came later in the day, I did not go inside the lighthouse, instead I wandered the grounds as I've been to many. Although the lighthouse is neat and an attraction in itself, I feel the location is the main attraction. There are shops and restaurants in the area and a nice trail that goes by it and beyond. The views from the trail are incredible, some of the prettiest coastline I've seen while in Japan. The drive here is quick from downtown or from the main shrine, so definitely make an effort to visit this area.Written October 19, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Guillaume AShizuoka, Japan480 contributionsBeautiful old little lighthouse overlooking the omaezaki coast. Open to visit during the day for a little fee. There also a nice little trail starting from the lighthouse.Written June 12, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LunasolhkHong Kong, China785 contributionsThe lighthouse is open from 9am to 4pm. There are several paid parking nearby (range from 3 to 5 mins) and we arrived the parking lot at 3:20 and the lady was telling us if we want to visit the lighthouse we need to walk fast. You can enjoy a very nice view from the lighthouse and we enjoyed the visit. The best place to take a photo of the lighthouse is from the Observation Deck "波切九鬼城址展望公園" which is close by and within 5 mins walk.Written September 5, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

However, in 1952, there was an accident in the ship, Yaeyama-maru, from Naha, Okinawa, which killed over 30 passengers around this place. Therefore, there is a memorial monument fot the victims.
Beautilful scenery. But we have to remember the great nature.Written October 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - jktrockSagamihara, Japan696 contributionsIf you ever find yourself on Jogashima Island, the lighthouse is one of the few things there to visit. Nothing special about to, except maybe on a clear day you can see Mt.Fuji.Written July 5, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- mat_makTokyo Prefecture, Japan5,893 contributionsThe lighthouse is located on the Katsuura peninsula. A pale white lighthouse was decorated with numerous tiles, it reflected on the sun's light and shined brightly. The inside of the premises was not trespassing.
