This is a beautiful and elaborate temple complex, the entrance fee is not high, the walk up to it is fun (touristy, but lots of shops with snacks, and souvenirs)

We had an amazing experience today at The Last Samurai.
Such an amazing experience.

I felt the park and the museum was very tastefully arranged to allow quiet reflection and respect for the magnitude of the events that occurred in Hiroshima (and Nagasaki)
After spending time absorbing the atomic bomb dome is is very peaceful to walk through the park and reflect the significance of the area.

There were many visitors entering the temple and worth to pay the entrance fee and to take as many photos as you like.
Although the entrance fee cost me 1000yen (which is slightly more expensive than other temples), I would still say this was indeed a worthy trip.

A truly lovely stroll garden that was started in the Edo period in the late 16th century and that was enlarged over the next 150 years.
Another characteristic of the garden is that you can enter from the time of sunrise (the time you can enter according to the season is different)!

You can look down Otemae Street from the top floor and see Himeji Station in the distance. The tour route leads you into an outdoor courtyard where you can look out over the grounds and the city.
Our guide was incredibly nice and he improved our experience in the castle by explaining many anecdotes about the castle and all the architectural tricks for defense, which were very interesting.

Koyasan Danjo Garan is a sacred area with many temples and supporting buildings where Kobo Daishi Kukai started to establish Koyasan as a religious center.
This is the spot where Kobo Daishi found the vajra he had hurled to determine where to build a monastery, 1200 years ago.

Just 30 minutes from Kyoto, the hike to visit the twin villages of Kurama and Kibune was worth the effort.
Must do if you live in Kansai, and well-worth the trip for visitors too.
