Awesome experience for samurai/katana lover. Greeted by 2 nice ladies with very fun and detailed history of the samurai, then watched an amazing katana performance accompanied by beautiful taiko, japanese drum and shakuhachi, japanese flute performance. Then they will teach the basics of cutting with katana in which I got to try cutting the rolled mats (tameshigiri). As an iaido lover, this is so much fun! Then ending the session with samurai meditation with incense and singing bowls. The house itself is a very well kept traditional house with beautiful decor and lovely garden. The samurai armors and paintings around the walls are so breathtaking. Totally love this unique experience.

Wow amazing experience here. The basics of ninja strategy and weapons are explained thoroughly by the instructor in English. From ninja's meditation to strategy and weapons. Its really amazing how resourceful ninjas are. The girl from the store also very helpful dressing me up and taking pictures of me then sending them through email. Also we got to use the weapons like trying to throw shuriken, use kunai, swords and blowing darts. A must do experience if you come to Kyoto :)

    約10年ぶりの弓道でしたが、とても楽しめました!やはり的に中たる感覚は、わくわくします^^
    オーナーさんも弓道の豆知識を教えてくださったり、動画や写真も撮ってくださり、あっという間の1時間でした!

Had a fun time ! The oner instructed us how to shoot our arrows and took pictures and videos. He is knowledgeable about archery, so it was interesting to talk him.
    It's worth to visit !!

After two weeks of travelling and experiencing the culture and history of this beautiful country, our last day was empty of excursion. So my son did a little research and found this option, we all said yes, so we booked a session.
Now I am no where an artist and when the broken bowl was placed in front of me, I was nervous, but the most relaxed & patient teacher talked us all through each step to put together our own unique souvenir.
During our experience, the history was explained and the experience was more appreciated.
100% recommended if you want to truly experience what Japan is about

We loved the tour. We had difficulty finding the place so I called them and they sent someone down to meet us. Everyone was very nice and it was very informative.

It is the perfect experience to better understand the meaning of the tea ceremony. The venue is beautiful, the tea master was great and we even had a chance to make our own tea. As a Japanese person, I'd recommend it 100%.

    海外の友達を連れて行ったら間違いなく喜ばれる体験です。茶道の起源から現在に至るまでのお話を聞き、先生のお点前を見学し、実際自分たちでたてるところまで体験できました。

I visited Mansagama in February 2020 and had prebooked the experience. Mansagama very delightful and helped me create a lovely tea bowl which looks awesome. I decided I wanted a second bowl and he guided me through the process and took a lot of care which I appreciated.

There was difficulty with shipping to Australia due to the pandemic and I contacted Mansagama and let him know that it hadn’t arrived. Mansagama let me know that the postal service was frozen and he organised DHL shipping at no additionally charge. I received the pottery a week or two later.

I love the pottery and I would like to do a matcha bowl sometime when I can travel overseas again.

I would recommend for people interested in hand making things.
