My husband, our friend and I had Takashi for a tour around the Tsukiji Fish Market where he took us to various food stalls and the wholesaler area to try various food and sushi. The quality of the food that we ate while walking around was top notch and he was able to help us navigate the different stalls, all while providing us useful context for what we were seeing. After a healthy walk we did our sushi making class with him and a sushi chef at Ganko Sushi where we made Nigiri-style sushi and cut-roll sushi. We had an amazing time. We all agreed the best part for us was how easy it was to talk to Takashi and ask him questions about what it's like to live in Japan and hear his honest opinions about things like the economy, local information, industry and cultural trends. It was really in-depth. My husband said Takashi as a tour guide felt like visiting a friend who lived in a different country who could help explain and catch you up on things while showing you around! I forgot to mention... before even starting the tour we got to take a quick stop for coffee, and he even offered to go through the rest of our itinerary and offer some advice for our trips to Kyoto and Osaka. It was an overall a very positive A+ experience for us.

    Thank you for everything Takashi!

My favorite part of the experience was wearing a kimono and learning about the tea ceremony. I particularly liked learning about the four key principles to Japanese tea ceremonies and the different levels of bowing. Overall it was a beautiful experience that everyone should try! The staff was very friendly and lovely to be around for the afternoon.

I was with Yuki-san and she was very sweet and patient with me. She taught me how to do sushi, explaining about all the ingredients and helping me with my Japanese. It was such a wonderful experience, thank you Yuki-sensei! I will come again!

I visited the ramen and gyoza class at YUCa's. It was a great experience and the food we prepared tasted fantastic. The class was very entertaining and YUCa was a very good host and teacher with lots of kitchen tricks but also lots of other information about Japan and Tokyo. I can absolutely recommend the course.

My family and I have recently arrived in Japan for an extended stay. My husband and I booked this course to increase our understanding of Japanese food culture and the range of options that we'll be able to buy food for at the supermarket to prepare at home. It was an informative and excellent experience. We hope to do another of the courses on offer as soon as we perfect the recipes that we learnt in the Bento Box cooking class.

We had a fabulous time and learned so much. Making the noodles from scratch was great. Who would have thought you can get so much flavour from so few ingredients. Highly recommend taking one of the classes.

I am delighted to have learned how to prepare Dashi (famous basic Japanese soup stock). We used it in many of the dishes we prepared. It is simple but so delicious! We prepared 8 different dishes, 3 appetizers, an omelette, a soup (bouillon), a rice dish, a chicken and wagyu dishes and a desert! Ouff, I could not eat everything and Yuki (the chef) confirmed the Japanese do not eat as much every day! Lol.

I highly recommend this activity. It is worth your money and I will definitely look for some of the very special ingredients when I am back in my country. And the most important, Yuki is very patient, obviously experienced and very attentive and sweet! She also provided lots of details on the Japanese culture. That was great.

It was also easy to get there by taxi, the place is very clean (as everywhere in Japan I noticed). I felt very secure even by myself.

I have taken two classes with Mayuko and I can not wait to take more! Her home is welcoming and comfortable and she has always been happy to answer my questions about the food and give recommendations on variations. You'll learn to cook fantastic food with recipes you can actually make again and will definitely have a wonderful time at her class!

This was such an amazing experience. The ladies helped dress us up in beautiful Kimonos and even helped us with our hair. There were so many color choices and size options, it was perfect for our group. The tea was delicious and we were able to learn about the tea making. After, we were allowed to take our time with photos and they even took their own and emailed them to each of us. It was such a lovely experience I wish I had done it sooner. I feel like this totally completed my tour of Japan. Their garden was beautiful and perfect for pictures. This is a must do for sure!

Despite the hot weather, the family and I really enjoyed tasting the green tea and sitting in the calm and relaxing atmosphere of Camellia Flower Teahouse. Our tea master Nao-san, gave us a very simple but thorough explaination of all the steps of the tea ceremony and why each step is taken. Nao-san also helped in making our own tea and I enjoyed listening to her instructions, since it gave me the best macha I've ever had! The Matcha tea was delicious, and it's given me a new appreciation for the flavour. Highly recommended for everyone visiting Kyoto and wanting to spend a very enlightening and peaceful hour in this grand city.

I am truly grateful to have found this course. 100% would recommend to anyone wanting to learn how to cook ramen and gyoza.

Masa and Junko are extremely good hosts and will make you feel at ease from the moment you walk in.

The course is really well organised and there is alot of detail about the food, it's history and all the tips and tricks you need to know whilst cooking Ramen and Gyoza. I was also lucky enough to be on my own for this class so it was essentially a private class.

Thank you again Chagohan, this course was excellent.

The tour was amazing and very interesting. Our Tourguide yoko was amazing. She answered any question we had during our market tour. We stopped at a lot of shops and she explained us a lot about the different types of japanese food and seafood. After the tour we head up to the cooking school where Kitty welcommed us and explained what we will cook today. We made 4 types of Sushi, Miso Soup and Omelette. Kitty has done an excellent job explaing the individual steps. After cooking we ate our cooked food. During the tour yoko took some photos which we received by email. Kitty gave us the recipe after cooking. Thanks to yoko and kitty for the great experience. We will definitely come back.

Had a great time learning to make ramen and Gyoza. Hideki was awesome. A good mix of hands - on and showing us how. Very easy to access the class from anywhere. And the best part was getting to enjoy the best lunch ever.
