- chongeuSingapore, Singapore4 contributionsSimply dazzling array of lights at night. A must go if you’re in Chongqing. Just be ready for the crowds, and try to get onto the bridge before 7pm.Written July 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TareqSydney, Australia28 contributionsThis is a really nice area with lots of excellent food and dining. It is the northwest part of Chongqing, a bit far from other tourist areas but great views.Written December 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael CSingapore, Singapore2,361 contributionsChong Qing is a super crowded place (the last count about 32 million), with people and noise everywhere.
If you ok with the noise level and people movement, this is a pedestrian mall that most tourists visit as well as commercial business area for business.
Since you landed and want to visit Chong Qing, walking the streets in this district and absorbing the local culture is a must do activity.
There are western fast food chain found in this area if you cannot tolerate the local cuisine.Written January 18, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The dam is important for Power Generation: (1) Brings in 10 billion yen/year in revenue, (2) Output is equivalent to 10 nuclear plants, and (3) Environmentally reducing use of 50 million tons of coal. It is also important for Navigation: (1) Backs up water all the way to Chongqing, (2) Enables 10,000-ton fleet between Shanghai & Chongqing, (3)
Upgrading the canal locks in the dam will increase tonnage to 50,000, reducing cost by 35%.Written January 10, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Pagoda at the top with a great view of the valley and Jialing River below. Very crowded as it is a weekend, and people are here to see the Chrysanthemums. We purchased a couple of persimmons across the street. Park was loaded with azaleas.Written January 9, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kenneth M8 contributionsChaotic men in the beginning of the tour boats. You can tour around chongqing or take a tour down the Yangtze River to the three gorges dam. There is bid changes going on now, they have built exclusive luxury condominiums there. I have not been there since they have done this . It was 2016 when I was last thereWritten July 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Deanosaur89Edmonton, Canada9,277 contributionsThe monument itself is a side attraction to the square but is hard to miss if you are in the area. The monument is pretty central to many nice attractions and architechture. Worth making a trip to Jiefangbei Square.Written October 9, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KodoDrummerBuenos Aires, Argentina70,639 contributionsDuring our weekday walks through the square, it was not overly crowded. Some people seemed to be sitting for a rest, while others were eating or drinking.Written March 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MitchHohhot, China134 contributionsThe art gallery is a nice sight in and of itself, with its unique architecture combining traditional and modern styles a very distinct style from the buildings surrounding it.
Inside there are several exhibits largely focused on local contemporary artists. Primarily paintings though there are a few small statues and some mixed media pieces. There are two floors and the interior is a bit industrial in its appearance.
The entry is free, and the whole thing can be seen in about 1-3 hours, depending on your pace and enjoyment of art. Highly recommended as an addition to a stroll along JieFangBei pedestrian street. It’s a stone throw away from the very famous statue on that street, and the place can easily be reached via the metro (lines 1, 2 and 6).Written January 9, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a tourist area that mainly attracts Chinese tourists, which means there is very little or no English around here. It's best to go with someone that can speak Chinese.
Once you arrive, you can kill a couple hours wandering around. You can check out farmers laboring in their fields as well as old buildings.Written September 21, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
