Great trip! Our guide Mike was very engaged and did his best to make everyone satisfied with the Wall experience. We have followed his tips and we saw both sides and it was really pleasant to admire the Wall, gates and slide down the tobbogan.

MOST foreigners choose to visiting Mutianyu Great Wall when they come to Beijing, due to the cold weather and transportation, we decided to go to Badaling instead. December is very cold in Beijing, the temperature was -15 to -3 degree Celsius when we were there, the public bus was suspended because of slippery ice, we took train to the Great Wall. Never expect there were so few tourists but really really cold when we climbed to the Great Wall, North side of the wall is highly recommended if you are in good physical condition, with more steep steps and zigzags, the north side of Great Wall can present a better beauty of the ancient wall. What an ice world the Great Wall was !
Please bring some snacks before climbing the wall, I did not see any stores providing food & drinking during this 2 hours trip on the wall. But some restaurants were still available when we went down.
The wind was soooooo strong when we climbed up, please wear more layers of clothes and don't forget to wear gloves for you need to hold the handrails when you are hiking, the handrails is very very very cold.
We missed the last train from Badaling Station to Beijing City, so we chose to take a taxi, cost us 350RMB but worth it.

Did not need to book this one in advance; amazing buildings, its more or less in five areas enclosed in the massive gardens. Lots to see and not commercialised; lots of selfie spots and shines a light on the cultural aspects of China.

I’ve been to the other parts of the Great Wall; they have many more tourists and seem much more touristy than this section.
This almost feels like Great Wall Light.
It took 1.5 hours by private car to arrive at this section from downtown BJ, (7:30am – 9:05am on a Sunday) we spent about 1.5-2 hours exploring and walking the wall, taking photo’s and then headed back to the car through the little village. Bought drinks, fruit and some local snacks and headed back into the city.
There were water activities and other things happening, but my friends just wanted to experience seeing the wall and walking on it. It was perfect.
I preferred this section of the wall to the others I’ve been too.

Well not munch to its a wall that's very famous and extremely challenging on your fitness to climb as steps are huge some 500mm...worth it though

Recommend this place within easy access from the forbidden city and right around the corner from the famous hohai bar street. The park is large But not as huge that would overwhelm a visitor. It's easily possible to cover it in an afternoon. Make sure you climb up the stairs to the white pagoda. Very pretty views from up there. A paddle or electric boat ride is also fun in the lake. If you don't have enough time to go to the summer palace (which is quite a drive away) you may opt for this park. The outdoor areas are similar in style and what there is to see.

The long corridor is definitely worth seeing. Try to visit at a non peak time to avoid the crowds. Make sure you arrive early to avoid the queues.

Take a taxi to Dongzhimenwai bus station, aiming to arrive no later than 820am. Look for bus 980 and/or a small sign referring to gubei. The cost is 48yuen.. cash only (no alipay or WeChat) and is paid as you're boarding. It departs 9am daily

Absolutely a beautiful part of the Great Wall both day and night! It is the one part of the wall you can visit at night. I recommend both! One of my favorite spots in the World!

Very good shoppingcenter with all the stores you need in one place. We shopped a lot of good stuff, for example running shoes, a jacket, t shirts

We were glad to have Catherine arranging for Ark (Xiao Liu) to guide us through the history of Xi'an and to have a look at the Terracotta Warriors. Xiao Liu goes above and beyond to ensure that we maximize our time and know more about Xi'an. She is friendly and fluent. We also opted for the city transfer and our driver is very informative and punctual! We enjoyed our time thoroughly! Very good!
