It is a great sight capable of encompassing great historical moments throughout the years, plus there were lives that were lost at the time of its construction, It has a great background that is worth investigating if you are curious about its history.

Large park with lake, where you can hire small boats. A lot of people, but it does not bother as there is space. Nice place to hang around, there is also couple of restaurants. We visited quite briefly, walked through it and it took about an hour, plus the trip with metro.

Definitely worth visiting, despite of the long trip. You can get there with metro, just make sure you leave to right direction when getting on the street from metro, otherwise it will be a long walk around. When you come up to street and you are facing to street, leave left - the gate is just few hundred meters away.

Made this already 2019 but review was in draft for some reason.

Ying Zheng, the ruler of the Qin Dynasty in China, ordered his men to build the Great Wall. The Great Wall is used to defend against foreign enemies (foreign enemies refer to a few Chinese ethnic groups in the border areas). This made a great contribution to the preservation of ancient China's territory,Now it has become a world-famous scenic Spot. There're a lot of stories about the Great Wall, if you are interested in them, You can contact me by email.

We ended up in this park when the Fobidden City was sold out. Even though it was not our original destination, it surpassed expectations! The tea room on the East side is a great cultural gem.

It was beautiful and even though we haven't been on another part of the wall, I can definitely say this is the most stunning part of the wall. The lake view is priceless and there are a lot of faculties around the wall at this place. Unfortunately the amusement park was closed due to winter and most part of the wall was also closed but at the summer time I am pretty sure it's the best. Especially for people with kids. You can also float on the lake in a boat.

This corridor was over 2200 feet long with over 80,000 paintings. T was a beautiful day and the the wind was blowing was it was peaceful. Not too many people here so that was nice. Lots to see but it's hard to take it all in while in a guided tour with a schedule.

We used Catherine Lu tours for private tours of both the Mutianyu Great Wall and the Forbidden City. I am SO glad we did, and we absolutely would recommend them to others visiting Beijing. We will also use Catherine and her guides for other tours in China. Especially for the Forbidden City, having a knowledgeable guide is essential to fully appreciate and understand what you are seeing. Our guide, Peter, expertly guided us through the maze of structures in the Palace Museum and shared excellent information about the art and history along the way. I'm honestly not sure what we would have done without a guide! Catherine herself came along on our tours and helped take wonderful photos and guide us towards good spots to eat, as well as other sites we should see in the city. I am very happy with my experience and very grateful to Catherine and Peter for making my first time in Beijing so memorable!
