No trip to China is complete without a trip to the Great Wall of China! Full of history! By taking the cable chair ride up and sliding down the mountain, the view is breathtaking from above.

I visited Badaling Great Wall in March. It was beautiful but it was colder when I was up there and also too windy. Be careful when it is windy since steps could be a bit slippery.

Juyong Pass is one of the higher, tougher climbs of the Great Wall, but it’s worth the effort of climbing to the top for the spectacular views.

If you’re fit you’ll need at least 20 to 30 minutes to get to the top, then the same (or a bit longer) to get back down.

The most difficult part of the climb is the first three sets of stairs, some of which are at least as high as two or three normal stairs and quite narrow.

Once you clear the first three sets, the stairs are a bit more even and easier to climb, so if you’re not super fit, or your knees aren’t so great, leave yourself some extra time, and use the railings.

A warning though, if you’re not confident going up the stairs it will be harder coming back down those super steep and tall steps I mentioned earlier.

In fact, I saw a lot of older people, wisely going down those steps backwards so if the lost their balance they wouldn’t topple down the stairs - again they’re steep, and it’s a long way down if you do lose your balance.

All that said, take your time and go
all the way to the top of you can. The views are most definitely worth the effort.

Uncrowded late March (tail end of the low season)we saw no more than 40 people enroute. It was impressive though restored. The dam was still iced over adding to the picturesque charm. Apparently the wild sections are no longer accessible due to the death of an American diplomat and his family 3 years ago (this is what local told us).

I did quite a bit of research and settled on visiting this section of the Great Wall and I'm so glad I did! It's a beautiful stretch that looks barely touched, with a raw sense of beauty with it. The walls are just ankle deep, and the hike up is really steep and uneven. It's not recommended for those with knee problems or mobility issues. It's high up with a view of mountains and small town in the backdrop. The stretch between 6th to 8th guard post are recommended for trail. Truly a beauty to behold.

As you would expect the Great Wall is very Impressive where ever you see it, this location, best way up is the chairlift, it is not wheelchair friendly at the top and the climb is very steep, you will need a moderate level of fitness, weekends are very crowded you would need to be there early, best time is during the week

We attended a performance of the Acrobatic Show at the Chao Yang Theater in Beijing. It was the very best acrobatic performance that we had ever seen - far surpassing any of the acts that we had previously seen in ability, skill, variety, and numbers. I don't think that photography was allowed so we have no photos of the performance to share, but the quality and skill of every act and acrobatic performance remains in my mind. Don't miss this performance if you have the opportunity! It is well worthwhile!

Have been to Nanshan ski resort the first time on December 27, the second time on December 31st. The first time it was not possible to get to the top of the "mountain" (hill) because the black slope had not been prepared yet, so skiing the whole day on the beginners slope was a little bit boring. Instead, the second time, one of the 2 black slopes starting from the top of the mountain was open and it was a great experience. Just regret not to be there in middle of January when the other black slope "extreme snow channel" is planned to open, as judging from above it should be very steep and challenging. One more reason to go there again in the future. In total the ski resort has 3 chairlifts, all of them are 4 seats fixed-grip type with no cover. The only defect is that the foot stand is made for chinese skiers, which means that if you are taller than 1,8 meter then it's very difficult to put your skis on it, leaving them leaning down all the time. I also enjoyed the moguls areas, they have easy, medium, difficult one (this last one is just the standard black slope starting from the top of the mountain). Rental procedure is OK, you have to pay 400 rmb as a deposit, the once you rent something the related cost will be deduct from this deposit so you don't need to handle cash all the time. Food is OK and organization is OK. Parking fee is 5 rmb but if you are lucky sometimes is free (don't know why). Have a nice day!

We were approached by our tour guide by we thought we didn't have time to see this performance. After talking to locals,we decided to see this, according to local this is somewhat expensive according to their standard

It is a live show about a love story. The music, lighting, costumes computer technology especially the waterfalls is spectacular. I have seen the water shows the O,R, in Las Vegas, this is slightly different. There is a real waterfall on stage and also along the side of the theatre with water coming down....

The show is about an hour and fifteen minutes,my two grand children who is 12 years old is totally astounded by the entire performance. There are live actors which show up in different places of the theatre, including live peacocks.

    Thumbs up!! Don,t miss it

Our family loves travel a lot. Travel China Guide provided the best services we have ever experienced. Maria and her team are responsible, and plan our trips carefully and take care of all the bookings during our two weeks trip in China, so that we can enjoy our time over there carefree. Thank you so much! We highly recommend Travel China Guide and their services.

I am so glad that we booked this tour. Everything was prompt and on time and Fred, our guide, was especially helpful in making sure we had everything we needed for a great experience. He sorted out all of our tickets and the Mubus dedicated area was much appreciated after our hike for a cold drink to cool down! I also loved the flexibility of the day and how we could choose how to use our own time. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an amazing day with all the hassle of organising it taken care of.
