It is a great sight capable of encompassing great historical moments throughout the years, plus there were lives that were lost at the time of its construction, It has a great background that is worth investigating if you are curious about its history.

In the palace itself there isn’t much to do except going up the long stairs and appreciate the views. Suggest comfortable shoes.

Beautiful and peaceful visit to the Temple of Heaven. It was busy on New Years Day and many come to pray at the beginning of the New Year. With Covid restrictions in place, we could not buy a ticket via WeChat however we were able to pay for the ticket in cash when we arrived on site. As a visitor, you do need your passport number to visit the site. The history is incredible and it provides great insight to the spiritual side of ancient times. The buildings are amazing and if you time you visit right when the light is low, the sun lights up the interiors so you can really appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of these buildings. You can race around and see the buildings or spend a lot of time wandering around.

We ended up in this park when the Fobidden City was sold out. Even though it was not our original destination, it surpassed expectations! The tea room on the East side is a great cultural gem.

Outstanding skilled performance of stunts, dance and acrobatics by men, women and children in colourful costumes. Visually thrilling. The theatre itself was a bit run down and unkempt looking. We had reserved seats, but were told to "sit anywhere". We selected seats near the back and had a great overview. Strict instructions were given about no photography or videoing .. but still people chose to ignore this. However, the show itself was amazing and the acrobatics astounding. Highly recommended for an evening's entertainment.

This place reeks of history from recent past , and more importantly into the grandeur of the palace started in the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Tiananmen Square continues to play a key role in Beijing whereby important parades and events are held.

If you can wake up early, then you should make your way to the square for the daily flag raising ceremony.

If you enjoy architecture this is a good place to visit. For me it was impressive at night time as you can experience the stadium and ice cube while it is illuminated. You do not have to spend to much time here as there are not much else to do but it is worth a short visit.

The largest public square in the world. Tiananmen Square established in the year 1417. Huge scale and space, with an impressive entrance to the Forbidden City. Monument to the People's Heroes is located in the square. National Museum of China is located in the East of the square and on the south side is the Mao Zedong Mausoleum. Tiananmen Square is a cult place that must be seen when visiting China, especially keeping in mind the history of this place.

A little early to view the Imperial gardens, as the awesome beauty of spring is a few weeks away. Although we encountered chilly weather, we enjoyed the views and walk through the royal garden.

This corridor was over 2200 feet long with over 80,000 paintings. T was a beautiful day and the the wind was blowing was it was peaceful. Not too many people here so that was nice. Lots to see but it's hard to take it all in while in a guided tour with a schedule.
