It is a great sight capable of encompassing great historical moments throughout the years, plus there were lives that were lost at the time of its construction, It has a great background that is worth investigating if you are curious about its history.

Beautiful and peaceful visit to the Temple of Heaven. It was busy on New Years Day and many come to pray at the beginning of the New Year. With Covid restrictions in place, we could not buy a ticket via WeChat however we were able to pay for the ticket in cash when we arrived on site. As a visitor, you do need your passport number to visit the site. The history is incredible and it provides great insight to the spiritual side of ancient times. The buildings are amazing and if you time you visit right when the light is low, the sun lights up the interiors so you can really appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of these buildings. You can race around and see the buildings or spend a lot of time wandering around.

We ended up in this park when the Fobidden City was sold out. Even though it was not our original destination, it surpassed expectations! The tea room on the East side is a great cultural gem.

A little early to view the Imperial gardens, as the awesome beauty of spring is a few weeks away. Although we encountered chilly weather, we enjoyed the views and walk through the royal garden.

If you enjoy walks and pretty gardens, then this is a good place to visit.
The grounds are huge and it will take at least 3 hours to do it justice. We came in winter and there were very few visitors as most would opt not to be in the outdoors.
One of the highlights was the fact that the lake was frozen and it gives off a different kind of charm.
To get to the site of the ruins, it is a 2.5 km walk from the entrance to the site.

We came here by metro but were late for cherry blossoms. Saw some plum blossoms and some beautiful flowers. There is a big lake with a beautiful Chinese designed bridge across.

It is both restful and interesting. People were playing music, singing, dancing, exercising. Lovely flowers displays line the walkways. Artistic rock displays rival the best in Guilin Park in Shanghai. We go there every time we are in Beijing.

At the end of your tour of the Forbidden City, you come across this imperial garden with its plants and rock garden. We stopped here to rest our tired legs before we exited from the back of the Forbidden City.

We enjoyed viewing the flowers as they are blooming and the calm clear waters of the lake. Not crowded during our weekend visit. Over 8,000 different tropical and subtropical plants and flowers. Lots of trails for walking and hiking.

It was a great experience to walk around Olympic Forest Park. The Bird's Nest and Olympic torch were great to observe first hand. The engraved wall with all the Special Olympian's names was a special sight to see and experience. This is a relaxing way to spend some time in Beijing.

Lovely park to wander through and soak up the atmosphere, there are also several interesting things to visit such as a grand gateway and some mini pagodas. Perfect place to relax away from the busy tourist centre of Tiananmen Square/ Forbidden City.

So we went during Golden Week holiday and it was super packed. There was more people than animals and it was more like a park. My friends told me the self driving part of the park during non peak times are pretty fun. Don’t buy veggies from outside venders since they won’t let you bring them in. You can buy veggies to feed the animals inside but it is about 35 RMB. Overall if it wasn’t packed it is a nice place to take the kids
