Be prepared for long walks and steps. The place is awesome in the morning and easily accessible by metro. There are very few snack options so bring your own. Use the map to avoid getting lost. Go to the top for breathtaking views.

Plenty of stairs and walking but really worth the pictures and historic value of the location. Some attractions close early so please come in the morning. The exits are confusing and suddenly you may find trapped inside.

The best experience in my life to climb to the tower of hero. The feelings you get from this wonder of the world will change you.

The place is large and takes long walks to explore the vast area. The daily flag hoisting/down even is a crowd pleaser so be prepared with published times to witness it.

This is a very popular and important tourist place for local and overseas tourists. Huge place, only walking is allowed. Getting into is a security check process, lengthy que but efficient. Carry passport if from overseas.

Probably one of the more magnificent and majestic building in the Forbidden Palace. Great ancient Chinese architecture. Saw this in many Chinese films about ancient China and its emperors and warlords.

This is the only entrance to the Forbidden City. It has five towers appearing like a flying phoenix. You need to purchase a ticket to enter. I recommend you purchase the entrance ticket online at 3rd party website to avoid queuing. Amazingly, no physical ticket (QR code, ticket reference number etc) is issued. Just show your passport to scan through as the system can detect you have valid ticket.

If you time your visit right in the afternoon, the sun streams through the doors and illuminates the interior and you really can appreciate the relics that have been preserved and you can also see the artwork throughout the interior.

The mall is stunning in the evening because of the LED ceiling outside. It's great for taking pictures or even for just going for a stroll.

The mall itself has the usual shops and food options, as with many other malls in Beijing. It is on the bigger end of the spectrum of malls in the city, though, so you won't find yourself bored in this place. Most brands here are foreign/international (e.g. Muji, Zara, H&M, Victoria's Secret, Starbucks, etc. There are many local options for food together with a few international chains.

This looks like a fabulous place, one of the best water parks in the world, but it was closed when I went, I've seen other reviewers who also found it closed. Expensive. No boxer trunks for men, a chance to wear a skimpy suit. If you are over 60 you need an escort!!

A beautiful estate with a great garden, full of Qing Dynasty history. Each of the rooms/pavilions has mini exhibitions and exhibits of the living quarters from the era. Busier in the afternoon than the morning because most tour groups tend to visit other attractions in the morning (e.g. Forbidden City or the Temple of Heaven).

Giving this place 4 stars only because I did not get a chance to experience the tour guide or the bathrooms because the original visit plan had to be changed.

I came upon this 9 Dragon Screen on my way to the Treasury Room within the Forbidden City. This ceramic tile screen (seemed to be 30 to 40 feet long) and featured 9 huge dragons, each one different. It was awesomely cool.

The turrets on the corners of the forbidden city are a photographers delight. Especially the Turret on the North East corner. This turret is popular for wedding photos and anytime of the day if you visit this turret, you are likely to see local Beijinger's getting the wedding photos taken here.

The moat if front of the Turrets gives it an added beauty. If you still have the energy after visiting the Forbidden City, when exiting, turn right and wander down to the North East Turret for some great photos and people watching.
