    My favourite experience in Beijing so far!
    When I was arriving, I was greeted by the most excited man named Richard who started the Hutong Calligraphy school. He told me that he would be the translator for my class, and that I was the only one participating today. Well, was I in for a treat! My teacher, Mr Sun Guanglu, not only a brilliant watercolour artist, but also a pyrography master where he burns his artwork into wood. I was so privileged to spend one-on-one time with him today in this workshop. The most incredible part of the whole experience was that he didn't speak English, yet the flow of the whole workshop just meant that I knew exactly what he wanted me to do and how he wanted me to hold the brush and the amount of ink he wanted me to use... ART IS THE MOST UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE AND I AM SO INSPIRED.

    It's quite nice and a pretty cool experience even if you have no knowledge of Chinese characters.
    A very nice calligraphy class where you can create your own souvenir. My teacher, Richard Li, was a very kind, informative and helpful teacher. I had arranged a two-hour class and I couldn't understand how two hours passed. It was quite enjoyable. It is a good opportunity for people who want to have extraordinary cultural experiences, which they can find on Trip Advisor. A beautiful experience that you will definitely not regret.

    Incredible experience!
    Amazing teacher, very fun class where you learn so much about beginners calligraphy. The class is well structured, but you feel relaxed, which is the point of calligraphy. You are also offer traditional Chinese tea. If you are ever in Beijing. take this class, you learn so much both from the class, and the teacher, who has amazing lessons on life and happiness. Take this class, you will regret it if you don’t :)

    Amazing experience
    We started our morning with our guide Steven Lee picking us up at our hotel in a private car. We had about a 1/2 hour drive to the temple of heaven and Steven was educating us about all the different areas of Beijing along the way as we passed through different Beijing neighborhoods. Steven was very knowledgeable of Chinese history and both past and current Chinese culture. We were all awe struck by the the architecture and details of the different building that make of the Temple of heaven as well as the landscape(s) of the surrounding public parks where we took our tai chi lessons with a master teacher. I highly recommend this tour.

    Highlight of the trip! 10/5 stars
    Sunflower Li was a phenomenal host. We had no idea what to expect going into this adventure, but Sunflower made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. From traveling by train to cooking to playing badminton, my wife and I had a fantastic time. Trust me. If you want to actually experience a "day in the life" of someone from Beijing, this is the activity to do. You won't regret this experience.

    i enjoyed very much my lesson with howard. Becky took care of all the details and made the cycling your extremely straight forward. this is well worth doing.

    awesome experience!!
    first, the guide and I had some problem, however the guide, Linda managed perfect.
    calligraphy lesson place was so modern , it was displayed a lots of works and ancient
    arts. teacher was very kind how to teach everything was awesome.
    teacher and guide made super comfortable atmosphere to me.
    I would like to take the experience again!!

    a taste of TaiChi
    I have frequently encouraged people to try TaiChi, and always said "one day" I'll try it myself. Well, my first lesson in the park at Temple of Heaven, led by a master, was truly informative and encouraging to continue.

    Excellent Experience!
    We booked this experience on our last day in Beijing. Yu, our instructor, met us at the East Gate of the Temple of Heaven as specified, though we were a few minutes late due to the morning traffic. We had a couple of extra people, and he was easily able to accommodate this and negotiated a fair rate for them to join the class. We went to an area where many community members were practicing Tai Chi, and there was plenty to room for our class. Yu led us through a sequence, then proceeded to break down the sequence and explain the history and rationale of Tai Chi as well as some aspects of Chinese Medicine. It was a truly awesome experience, and my only regret is that I do not live in Beijing so that I could continue to study with Yu. I would highly recommend this experience.
