- Dr. SabaAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates2 contributionsIt was the most refreshing park near by my accomodation,
Strangely foreigners were not seen around impression was an unsafe place crowded by locals but may be it was just an impression. Variety of birds seen.In my opinion its must to visit place in central Nairobi.Written June 26, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - SimbaJohannesburg, South Africa119 contributionsPretty gardens and interesting. Have good views of Nairobi’s skyline. However, there is too much trash and that distracted me from enjoying them. I went there because I had been told one gets good views of Nairobi’s skyline. Once there I realized Kenyatta International Conference Centre is more suitable for that purpose.Written January 14, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Rosario_itBelgium1,826 contributionsAfter visiting the Giraffe center we had a tour on Nairobi where the traffic is awful!
So we had some stops along the tour.
One stop was at this park which is centrally located (as indicated by its name).
The park is a little oasis in the centre of the city.Written September 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Bianca MSoleure, Switzerland313 contributionsIt's a quite interesting place, you learn all there is to know about the terrorist attack on the US ambassy. However, there is not much to see and it's maybe a bit expensive for what it is.Written October 29, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Clement AmoloNairobi, Kenya6 contributionsSuited along the Thika Superhighway near Pangani, it is a public park, so the entry is free. If you arrive from the Pangani side, you cross over some torn part of the parameter wall, pass through an old cemetery and you are right inside. I have since learned it’s the cemetery for the fallen world war one and two soldiers.
There are lots of friendly monkeys. On this day, they were also choosy on what they ate. Since the visitors are allowed to feed them, and since on Happy New Year day there were lots of visitors, the monkeys had so much to eat and so much to refuse. It was a party-after-party for them.
They had eaten enough ice-creams, sweets and chewing gums since morning, so by the afternoon, they accepted your donation provided it was one of their favourite fruits: banana, mango, etc.
We got a cool spot in the shade away from all that children noise and enjoyed picnicking. Two monkeys joined us immediately, although we’d not sent out invitation cards to anybody. We gave each of them two plums then they climbed a nearby tree. Once they were through with the plums, they descended and headed straight to another picnicking family.
I’d say we had a good time. Other than the trees, there is not much else to see. I saw no birds, though some reviewers talk of many bird species there. The bougainvillaeas have spread their tall branches amongst other trees, and their bright flowers stand out.
I feel it is not the kind of place you should still be lingering in late in the evening.Written January 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
