Me and my partner decided to do a sunrise 3 hour ride to see the hot air balloons and ride in the desert and it was a fantastic experience. Our guide was very helpful and took plenty of pictures for us. Our horses were also matched perfectly to us, with me being an experienced rider and my partner not being experienced. It was a beautiful experience and the horses are so clearly well looked after and loved which is great to see in a country where horses are still often used for working and possibly their welfare is not always regarded as highly. I would highly recommend going for a ride here if you are visiting Luxor. You will enjoy it whether you're experienced or not and they can accommodate whatever needs you have!

I have been to Egypt many times and this trip Ahmed (Saffy) and Lesley Hammam is the very best of all my trips to date. This couple is a powerhouse of knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and fun. We were a small group of people who had not met before and are now friends with each other and our wonderful guides. Before we ever left home we had input into the itinerary, customising it to include all the highlights for those who had never visited the country before and going off the tourist trail to travel across the desert, stay in an oasis town, visit the ancient sites of Abydos & Amarna, lunch with the Bedouins and swim in a desert lake. All this plus the Pyramids of Giza, Saqqara and Daschur, the Valleys of the Kings, Queens & Nobles plus the Artists Village, the temples of Karnak, Luxor, Kom Ombo, Edfu and Esna, Philae and the magnificent Abu Simbel. We spent 5 glorious days on a Dahabayia sailing the Nile stopping off each day to explore local life, quarries, bird life & lots more. Sunset from a boat on the Nile should be experienced by all at least once! The administration on this tour was top class. Lesley & Saffy ensured we each had a wonderfully memorable holiday. I learned so much about ancient Egypt from them. I cannot even say trip of a lifetime. It was so good I am going back with them this year again. No higher recommendation than that can I give!!

I did a riding trip for sunset with my mother and an Egyptian friend and loved it! The stables are very beautiful, I really liked the colors. The horses all look healthy and are very beautiful. The owner Ganun was very friendly and funny and did his best that we enjoyed the time there.

The riding trip itself was fantastic, I totally recommend to go riding at sunset time, it's so beautiful. Also my mother who didn't ride for many years and who was at first a bit scared enjoyed it very much. Ganun picked the perfect horse for her, very quiet and easy to handle.

To sum up, we really recommend Horses & Hieroglyphs for a riding trip or even a riding holiday!

My entire Egypt vacation was amazing, but my most favorite day of our tour was when my friends and I took a camel ride through the West Bank neighborhood of Luxor.
When planning our vacation, I talked to my friend in Cairo and told her that I really wanted to take a camel ride while I was in Egypt. She discouraged the idea, as she knew the camels around the Giza Pyramids to be mistreated, sickly and having fleas. I spoke to my Tour Guide and asked him if he could find an ethical camel riding company who take good care of their animals. He really delivered when he found us Pharaoh’s Stables in Luxor. The camels were absolutely beautiful and our 40 min walk around the village and the banana plantations was relaxing and culturally fascinating. Our guides, Abdullah and his adorable young apprentices, Omar and Kamzee, were perfect young cultural ambassadors for Luxor.
Appreciating our enthusiasm, Abdullah invited us back to the farm/stables to meet the rest of his animals. My heart melted as I held a baby lamb and got to pet a baby camel and foal. The stables were clean and the animals were clearly well cared for. This experience was absolutely priceless, and it will stick with me long after returning back to the real world.

Last visited in spring 2020. This was my third trip with Emma and her Ride Egypt family and it will not be my last! The staff and Emmas partners are friendly and helpful, no request is to big.

The horses are amazing; well trained, in great condition and ridden in good tack. The riding is varied. Getting up early and watching the sunrise balloons from horseback, picking up lovely breakfast falafel as you go, is one favorite. Hacking through the lush sugarcane fields, watching farmers go about their daily work is another. Want to fly with your horse? There are plenty opportunities for good gallops too🏇🏼

If you love culture and history as much as you love horses, you’ve definitely come to the right place. Temples, tombs, museums, Valley of the Kings and Howard Carter’s house are some of the highlights in Luxor. If you are lucky, Egypts own Indiana Jones will be your guide as you walk in the footsteps of Hatshepsut and Tutankhamun.

Looking forward to doing it all again😎

I booked a riding trip with VIP Riding Luxor with my mother and an Egyptian friend. We did the tour to see the balloons starting in Luxor and really enjoyed it. The horses at the stables are all very beautiful and most importantly very well fed. You can see that the team takes good care of their horses.

The trip itself was fantastic. Karem who came with us took very good care of my mother who was a bit scared as she didn't ride for a long time. He also took his time to take some great photos.

To sum up, we all enjoyed riding at this stable and would absolutely recommend it to anyone!

I am a mama of 3 kids. 9,7 and 3. We decided to go on an horse riding adventure in the desert of the West Bank, Luxor. Now you would think I'm nuts taking small kids out there, however, we had the best guide. Not only is she a champion horse rider, trainer, instructor, a certified disability instructor ( my 7 year d has cerebral palsey), guide, a Mama but also a local!
Lesley has lived on the West Bank 20 years and knows the place like her hands!
We were taken all around the temples explain what each was and it's significance. She was brilliant and patient with the children. My 7 year old ( disabled) was riding for the first time alone without fear by the end of the day. Her confidence after being with Lesley has changed her for life. She feels she can do anything now. The gratitude I have can not be expressed in mere words! My 9 year old son had the opportunity to be a cowboy! And lil miss 3..well riding confidently at her age, playing with goats and cows.. milking cows with Lesley is an experience the children always talk about.
I also had the opportunity to ride alone with Lesley while her beautiful daughter taught the children how to feed and brush the horses.
While alone Lesley corrected my riding. I knew how to ride from being on a farm but had no formal lessons. My skills as a rider improved immensely. We were able to trek further into the desert not usually seen by the public.
The animals are clearly loved and pampered. All professional riding gear was provided.
A wonderful experience and something everyone should try to do in Luxor. Break away from the "normal" tours and see things from a local, but this local lady is originally from England! She is fluent in Arabic so there were never any hassles.
Not only did we have a life changing experience but made some friends for life.
