Trip included tours, transfers and guides including Nile cruise. We had looked at many itineraries and vendors and ultimately decided on Egypt gift tours based on ability to communicate and converse with heba and get her insights on what is optimal.
Guides - Abbas In Cairo and Giza was knowledgeable and energetic.
Manal - Alexandria was great in her explanation and history of Alexandria. We enjoyed the tour of the library the most.
Rocky from the Nile cruise was entertaining and engaging.
For those like me who plan a lot, just know that specific ship for cruise may be available just a free days before. And IT IS OK. Many ships are almost identical and you spend very little time on it. Hi, I am planning a trip to Luxor in March 2019. I want to do the hot-air balloon ride. Online price is showing around 80$/person. Can someone please guide about whether to book online at this price? Or will it be better to go there and book? Any tour operator namely contact/price will be helpful.

We went to Luxor in 2017 and also plan to go back in March 2019.
We did the hot air ballooning in 2017.
This was our experience.....
When we arrived in Luxor, we booked the hot air balloon experience via a travel agent.
There are numerous travel agents who can organise the hot air balloon experience on one of the main streets in Luxor (sorry I can’t recall the name of the street - I think it’s the Korniche Al Nile but I’m not 100% certain).
We booked with Sindbad (balloon company). You can check out the reviews on TripAdvisor.
We walked into a few of the travel agents and asked for prices. They offered varying prices. We walked out, if/when we were not happy with their prices.
The agents will TRY make you pay as much as possible. We acted confident and told them we had shopped around and we knew the going rate. Because we booked last minute and there were vacancies with Sinbad we got a good deal. They’d rather take two people at a reduced rate, than have two empty seats/spots.
We got a good price 800Egyptian Pounds. Very easy to organise.
The travel agent organises for you to be picked up from your hotel as part of the package/price.
We paid in cash when we booked.
We got a receipt.
We were picked up from our hotel very early and then dropped back after the experience.
I personally think it’s best to book when you get to Luxor.
Don’t book via your hotel, they take an extra percentage as commission. Other people on our hot air balloon paid double what we did because they booked via their hotel.
