We resided on Gezira for a few days and enjoyed our Zamalek walks. One day we decided to walk this busy bridge and it was an interesting experience. Very nice views of Nile from the bridge. You can also admire the Gezira from that perspective.

I was surprised to find that there have been so few previous reviews for this bridge, which is listed on many maps as 'Kasr El Nil'. With a pair of lions guarding each side of the both entrances to the bridge, a wide footpath on either side and far less traffic than the 6th October Bridge. It offers good views up and down the River Nile. You will probably cross the bridge if you go to the Cairo Opera House.

It's directly outside our hotel but it's nothing more then a common bridge with normal Cairo traffic jams.
