If you visit Kangnam sighseeing and visiting COEX is a must. We were deeply surprised and impressed by this public library and did not expect it at an commercialised spot like COEX or Kangnam. Quite place to take a rest and spend some time for reading. Absolutely worth a visit.

This building is one of my favorite places in Seoul! As an avid reader, I can find a rich amount of books in English (as well as other languages). They have a whole floor dedicated to international reading materials. In addition, they also have another floor for multimedia use: photocopier, computer access w/ internet, etc.. and a huge bunch of DVDs available to check out. All you need is a library card to get these free! There’s a wide selection of Hollywood movies, Kids’ Cartoons, and TV Series on DVD (worth a look if you don’t have Netflix).
Finally, make sure to stop by in winter to experience the outdoor ice rink right at the library plaza. It’s only $1 for entrance, and another $1 for skate rental. What have you got to lose?

During the month I spent working remotely in Seoul, most of it was spent here. The wifi connection is great; the staff are helpful and friendly. There is a cafeteria which serves inexpensive meals (around 4000-7000 won). The compound was also green and calming.

This is a Hanok library on Inwangsan Mountain. Come by and get relaxed in a quiet area.
    - The location is close from Changuimun(Jahamun). Local bus(green) #1020, #7022 and #7212 goes there. There's almost no uphill until there. Good to visit together with Inwangsan Trail, Changuimun Gate(Jahamun) or Yun Dong-Ju Literary Museum.
    - A free Hanok library. Really relaxing with an artificial waterfall.
    - This is quite new and well-maintained.

Seoul national university is the best one in South Korea,I went to there on the Mid-Autumn day that is the most important holiday of Korean people. Many presents took their children to there,to make them up in studying. The university is big and a little far from downtown. You need to take a bus to there under subway. And I visited the College of Arts, because I am majoring in English Literature and Culture. But I think maybe students who like science would like there.Too much scientific surrounding to scientists. The library is big and excellent, you can study there with a quiet.Good luck to applicators.

This is an old library on Namsan Park. Good to visit for both of citizens and travelers.
    - Accessible via Bus #2 #4 #402 #405.
    - The location is right at the starting point to walk up the mountain.
    - In April, it's good with cherry blossoms. In November, it's good with fall foliage. There's an open air library and some decent resting areas.
