This is a large Buddhist temple in Seoul which is busy and colourful. I would say it is worth a visit if you have the time. Admission is free, but not everywhere you can take pictures.

One of the most imposing gates in Seoul protecting Gyeongbok Palace. The most outer gate and the grandest in that palace.

Most days at the time of visiting there are 3-4 changing of the guard performances (2 on the outside and 2 on the inside) they also differ in the changing style depending on which change performance you are witnessing. Check with the information or on their website for tour times.

Worth the changing of the guards to see their reenacted costumes for varying guards!

Walking distance from King Sejong and Admiral Yi monuments.

I was in the area and saw it on TripAdvisor, so went to see it. Part of area around World Trade Center. Interesting to see if you are in the area. I am not convinced it would be worth of an extra trip.

This is a larger than life statue of the fourth king of the Josean Dynasty which ruled Korea until the declaration of the republic. The king is depicted in his royal gown and a confucian style hat. As you can imagine from his epithet, Sejong is a highly regarded ruler, who invented the Korean alphabet to improve literacy amongst the population. He is also known for developing the economy of Korea to use a monetary system, all the Korean scientific advances achieved under his rule, etc. I’m sure the Koreans can go into much depth.

I don't relate to Joseon history but a fun imposing figure to honour a disposed admiral that was innocently executed.

You'll see it if you're in the area.

This statue is one of many of the same design dotted around South Korea to remind everyone of the women and girls forced into sexual slavery for the Japanese Army.

A very beautiful ten-metres in height, Joseon-dynasty pagoda protected from the elements by a glass shield/case. This marble pagoda was made in 1467 when the area was ruled by King Sejo.

This statue represents the ‘comfort women’ who were used by the Japanese during war time. As it is near the Japanese embassy it caused quite an outcry.

This statue was dedicated by a university student to remember the sexual slavery by the Japanese during the 2nd world war. It is along the Main Street.
