Myeongdong is a must-visit when touring Korea. With products ranging from tornado potato chips to designer shoes, Myeongdong boasts everything in Korean cosmetics, food, toys and fashion. Its perfect location (centered in Seoul) allows such resources. The busy hustle of food carts on every street will ensure that you have a delightful time : you simply cannot not ignore the famous elderly woman sitting by the entrance stirring up dalgonas to spice up your visit. Although overcrowded at times, such chaos is what makes Myeongdong the perfect place to take a dive into Korean culture and socialize. Visiting in the morning may also help: Myeongdong is relatively peaceful earlier in the day, although there may be less food vendors.

Touristy street with some interesting handicrafts and souvenirs. There is a relatively new shopping block nestled within the street - it has a huge Kakao & Friends store at its entrance. The 4-storey building with graffiti is also interesting.

Amazing shopping mall with great value buys, make sure to collect your GST claims before leaving the mall. I got 5 packs of sock, Superdry T-shirts, a wonderful looking umbrella woven with korean silk and a nice japanese restaurant at the basement.

I had a great time at this place. It was kinda windy when I went there, but it was still worth it. Great views of Seoul. I especially enjoyed those locks of different colors, like those in Paris. Koreans are hopeless romantics which is endearing. 😍

The Bongeusa Temple is surreally located directly across the street from the Intercontinental COEX and COEX Center. It’s certainly worth the short walk to explore and relax.

This place is nice. You can get a feel for the old Korean way of living. It’s also fascinating to think that people actually live there, so don’t be noisy just take a lot of pictures and enjoy the ambiance.

The only area in Seoul that looks prepandemic-ish, most of the Seoul looks pretty dead, people are happy and mingling without fear of COVID, you see a lot of foreigners too, most restaurants are open, the good thing about pandemics is that you can get a spot without having to wait in line

Interesting art pieces around the plaza. Inside is a museum with special exhibits at times. Right outside is the Seoul City Tour double decker bus which you can buy a ticket for to enjoy sites around the area.

From Dongdaemun subway station, it was approx.15-min walk to market. We went on Jan.1, and the market was busy, packed with people. There were some stalls closed, but many were still open. Market has lots of food options, and things to buy, so you can spend hours there!

There was one of Choseon's palace in Seoul and located near City Hall Station. There had some Choseon's style palace and modern architecture. There was good to walk with old atmosphere, and sometimes there had exhibition. Though there had cheap entrance fee, but it was worth to visit and walk. One of beautiful palace in Seoul.

This huge gate is the entrance to the Gyeongbokgung palace, which is the biggest among five palaces in Seoul. A changing of the guards ceremony happens at the gate at 10 am and 2 pm. You can view the ceremony for free. Entry ticket is to be purchased for visiting the palace

This palace was beautiful in so many ways. The buildings were incredible and the landscape was breathtaking. I walked around the area for a long time and it was so peaceful and comfortable as well. I enjoyed my time there and the signs were super helpful to learn about the site as well.

Because of COVID, there was quiet and silent. But there was the most exotic area in Seoul, and had various world restaurant with good atmosphere. Maybe there will be excellent place with good mood after COVID. Many shop and restaurant was close business, but famous one was still operating in here and there. I wish there was good place once more with the end of COVID.

Mixed by old-fashioned Hanok houses and modern buildings, it's a popular touristic area in Jongno.
It's a great place to eat, shop or drink.
Good to visit together with Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung and Bukchon Hanok Village.
