We've always enjoying drinking Soju straight as well as mixing it with beer (Somaek) but learning the history of soju, how it is made, from beginning to end, and seeing it fermenting in the barrels, has only increased our appreciation of soju. Sam was very knowledgeable and we tasted several varieties of soju, including one with a Jeju influence. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it is definitely worth making time for it!
This class was wonderful, Joe is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his craft and happy to share with others! I'd recommend this class to anyone travelling to Seoul in a heartbeat, don't miss out! My only regret is that I wouldn't be able to take my makgeolli with me on the plane home.
Great experience. Very friendly brewer and sommelier. Had a great time. Sojus were a real eye-opener. Makgeolli was a million times better than store-bought. So good.
It was such a fun experience. We learn so much about many korean games, in a fun atmosphere. It is a really nice way to meet new people too! I recommend this experience to everyone who wants to learn about Korean games and to have a great time :)
Omar was very friendly and great at explaining the brewing process. We also thoroughly enjoyed the various sool we were allowed to try through the tasting!
I went solo and was a bit scared at first since I’m an introvert but everyone in my group was absolutely amazing. Sam was so informative during the tasting and it was a wonderful cultural and educational experience even for me as a Korean American. Everyone in my group and the host went out for additional drinks after because we were having so much fun. It truly made my trip and I would suggest this experience for anyone!!!
When I ask my family what their favorite activity was, without any hesitation, they said the alcohol dining experience. Inji was super informative and we felt like we learned so much about the drinking and drink making culture in Korea. The bar/restaurant we did our tasting at was also a really fascinating place, it was like going back in time. Again, huge shoutout to Inji! 10/10 experience and will definitely recommend to our friends and family!
