    Busy market with lots of things to sell!
    From Dongdaemun subway station, it was approx.15-min walk to market. We went on Jan.1, and the market was busy, packed with people. There were some stalls closed, but many were still open. Market has lots of food options, and things to buy, so you can spend hours there!

    Review of: Namdaemun Market
    Great local shopping
    Fun place to walk around and shop. Dedicated sections for clothing, baby goods, luggage, camera shops etc. I came for the kalguksu bibimbap alley and the grill fish alley. There are red angels ( tourist ambassadors in red uniform) standing at major intersections for questions. Great place to get a flavor of local culture.

    Big Livestock Products Market in Seoul

    There was the most big Livestock Products Market in Seoul. Many the butcher's was operating, and good to buy Korean beef with reasonable price. The peoples who I met in this market was kind, so I had good memory in this market. There was food alley in this market, so could enjoy Korean beef with good price. If try to eat Korean beef, there was very good market.

    Review of: Hongdae Art Market Free Market
    Market with Character
    Artsy place that has its own character and occasional buskers. Nice to walk, shop, eat and chill. I prefer this over the generic Myeongdong. Quite a number of restaurants, cafes and fashion stalls (personal favorites are Another Awesome, Fashionhong and Tomato Library)

    best place to get ginseng in Seuol downtown.
    There're varieties of seaweeds, dried seafood and most important of all, Korean ginseng, with better deals. Good experience overall.

    Interesting sight
    Lots of weird and wonderful sights and smells. You can buy your fresh seafood and have it cooked at any one of the restaurants above the market.

    Interesting Korean Traditional Marketplace
    Interesting traditional Korean marketplace easily accessible by metro. This place has lots of delicious snacks and street food and you can see stalls selling hugh and tiny reddish, hugh cabbage and big red apples, etc.

    One of big fish market in Seoul.

    This fish market is one of big fish market in Seoul, and renovated in recent years to modern system. There was many fish shop in 1F, and could eat seafood that was bought 1F at 3F for cooking. There was many fish shops, and had various seafood for sale. The modern market was good to enjoy fish shopping.

    Review of: Seoul Folk Flea Market
    Interesting but not really worth the walk from DDP
    I love a flea market, especially when in a fascinating country, but this was a bit disappointing. Lots of items far too big for hand luggage and lots of tat but little I was taken by. I particularly look for vintage clothes and fabrics and Olympic memorabilia but that was all a bit thin on the ground unfortunately.

    Review of: Dongmyo Flea Market
    Interesting used items. Most visitors are seniors.
    This is a street market next to Dongmyo Shrine. Most visitors are seniors. But, it's also an interesting place for young people. Good to visit if you are near.
    - The location is near Dongmyo Station(line #1) Exit #3. There's no remarkable sign of entrance. Just walk along the wall of Dongmyo Shrine.
    - It's bigger than I thought. There are tons of items like clothes, bags, antiques. Most things are used products.
    - There are some decent eateries as well.

    Review of: Yeongdeungpo Market
    For the adventurous - real locals market
    I liked walking through this market as it is not designed for tourist. If you are adventurous, you will really see a real market with assortment of goods and food that you may not see elsewhere.

    Some of it might be too much for some. I noticed a place that had a sign advertising a soup that consists of dog meat. The dish is though to be a health thing when times were very hard for Koreans after the war. I guess some still do seek it out although it is rare now in Korea.

    Another specialty food is called Soon-Dae, which is a pork blood sausage with rice noodles. There is an entire alley dedicated to this dish next to the market. Look for an archway with a cartoon pig. It is similar to Colombian dish called Morcilla.

    There is not much to buy in terms of clothing but you might find a bargain but may be a good place to buy spices like the traditional Korea pepper powder as I see that they grind them there on site.

    Review of: Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market - Yeouido
    Delicious snacks and street food
    The food trucks here are selling all kinds of Korean and foreign snacks and street foods including seafood, pizza, tacos, cotton candy, Chinese food and so much more. We ordered a ground beef taco and a chicken taco and to be honest the food was really delicious. Queues were quite long at some of the trucks including for the tacos but really they were well worth the long wait.

    Review of: Mapo Agricultural & Marine Products Market
    Very huge market for food materials
    This is a truly dedicated market for locals. It's a huge building having agricultural products and seafoods.
    - The location is a bit away from the bus stop or the subway station. Recommended to bring a car.
    - Not proper for a food tour. You'll like it if you wish to buy things or watch them.

    Review of: Gongdeok Market
    Smaller than I expected
    This is a traditional market near Gongdeok Station.
    Lots of things to see, eat and buy.
    It was smaller than I thought. If you're visiting as a tourist, I'd rather recommend Mangwon Market.

    Review of: Yeongcheon Market
    Very good traditional market
    This is one of few remaining traditional markets remaining in Seoul. Well-maintained arcade has many shops.
    It's good to visit for shopping or eating.
    - Close from Seodaemun Independence Park, metro #3 Dongnimmun.
    - Most visitors seemed like people living in the neighborhood. Not that touristic.
    - Street foods here were pretty affordable and tasty.
