During the festive period Shinsegae in Myeongdong is quite popular as they have extensive Christmas lighting all around the building, which looks quite pretty. There are two buildings, one more focused on high end brands and the other more focused on main stream brands. This department store is always busy because besides it's good selection and duty free area it is also nearby the heart of Myeongdong with all its shops and street food. So it is within easy walking distance and a good starting point to explore the area. It is also easy to reach with public transport.
Within the department store there is a great food area in the basement as well as a restaurant floor with 5-6 restaurants, mainly Korean, whereas in the basement it is all kinds of foods.
There are a couple of Shinsegae department stores in Seoul, this one and the one next to the Express Bus Terminal are the better ones.

The mall is huge and you can buy almost anything you need. Parking is not difficult with payment deferred if you shop. The supermarket is also big and complete. Lines are not too long and there is a tax refund options if you bring your passport. You can spend the whole day here with a lot of food choices and variety of stores.

Anything and everything here is expensive! All things are branded. It's a good place to visit and sight-see expensive stuff.

The bottom floor has a supermarket and fantastic dining places. Check out BIG GUYS TEPPAN and order their lobster meal.

We had dinner at Shake Shack which is our first visit ever to a Shake Shack as the one in Singapore always long queue. It was a great dinner experience. Doota is suitable for 20s-30s it has many trendy fashion & sports brands.

Hundreds of vendors with a huge diversity of product in one compact building on multiple floors. Great place to outfit a wardrobe for a makeover, new career, or new season.

If you have liked basement food courts in some of tokyo’s department stores, this place will bring you back there. Lots of dine in and takeaway selections. I quite enjoyed it.

'Gourmet 494', Luxury grocerant at the underground floor of the department store. Just a really nice place for a meal. Their food courts have collected all the best & famous Korean, Chinese, Italian, American, Japanese, Vietnamese, and etc. restaurants in Hong-dae area. Just order what you want to eat at the booth and take the black device they give you, bring it to your table and place it on the black plate which is in the middle of the table. When the food is ready, they will bring it to you where you are sitting.

Opened during the pandemic this department store - which has the size of a midscale shopping mall - made quite a noise in the market. Located nearby IFC and attached to the Fairmont hotel, this Hyundai department store is very spacious and full of upscale brands. Great dining options, art exhibitions and a supermarket in the basement are all part of the package. A great destination in itself, one can easily spend an entire afternoon at this department store.
