Easy to walk with many historical sites to explore. Most of the sulfur hot springs are located here. There are many dining options available. Situated right along the river, the area is not too hilly and has relatively little traffic in most places, giving romantic sense.

The Cathedral is very impressive from the outside. Inside is very nice but not quite as ornate as some of the smaller churches.

This bridge is very beautiful and a landmark in Tbilisi since 2010. Created by Italian architect Michele De Lucchi, it connects the new area with the old City and offers a stunning view especially at night when it is illuminated by LED lights.

This is a place you can access via the aerial tramway, nor far from Europe Square. From here you will enjoy the lovely view over the whole city, can see the Mother of Georgia from the bottom and even buy some souvenirs. Make sure to go on a clear sky day to make the most out of it!

The ride was nice and the ticket was 10 lari for one way. Once you are up, there is an amusement park. And the roller coaster there was really a lot of fun. We hiked our way down to the city center through the stairs path.

This is an avenue with beautiful buildings, similar to those seen in European cities. The facades of the building are ornate, with some carvings, etc. I asked a local what these buildings are for, was told that some are government buildings and commercial offices. They all seemed to be well-maintained.

I took my time walking around here, just enjoying the ambience.

The nice small church to visit during the daytime. Located next to the Kura river. A must visit place. Photography enthusiast, just keep in mind that photography is not allowed inside the church.

We visited this church in the day, and also in the evening. At night it was even more beautiful as it was lit with candles and was very serene. Lovely church which is definitely worth visiting.

This statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, who founded Tbilisi in the 5th century, stands proudly on a hilltop, gazing over old town. Worth the short hike up, not only to see the statue, but also view his view!

Walk up to the Pantheon in the early evening for wonderful views over Tbilisi and the distant mountains. In the grounds you can see the tomb of Griboedev and other Georgian luminaries in the arts.

The scale of the monument isn’t apparent when admiring from the cities streets below, so I would recommend taking the trek to admire up close. It’s a shame it’s not possible to view from the front when on the hill, but the small viewing platform at her feet offers a unique perspective. Full of history and meaning, I’d recommend to anyone on their first visit to the city and it’s an impressive piece of art.

The fact that this 6th century Basilica withstood many attacks, having been damaged due to the ongoing wars between Georgia and the Persians, as well as the Turks and subsequently rebuilt, is in itself reason to be visited. We unfortunately found its doors closed and only managed to photograph it from outside. I was nevertheless impressed by it.

I love taking pictures of statues and monuments. To me, they must be important to the locals to have them erected in their cities. This monument is not an exception. Took some pictures before leaving the area.

Having not seen the movie related to them ( as some TA reviewers reported), I have no idea who these men are.

Just amazing! It is absolutely a must go place even if you stay 1 day in tbilisi. It does not take too much time to reach there from the city center. It is close to the lake (they call it sea). People go there by private cars so it is better to go there early if you want to take photos without people.
