Amazing shopping center right in the busy district of Asuncion.
Underground parking, lots of shops, though a lot of them of expensive international brands, few of mid class / mid price shops.

Great area to walk around and experience Asuncion. We saw the outside only. I found no information about a tour of the inside but we would've loved to go in. There are many other historical attractions nearby and the Palacio de Lopez should be one of them!

Very nice, big and versatile shopping center and food court.
large subterranean parking, only getting there requires you to dive into the busy traffic of Asuncion

The Museo del barro is an oasis in a country that refuses to celebrate or showcase its own culture. Here you will find awesome multicultural art, including awesome indigenous ART. It’s a small but very meaningful space, with lots of learning and viewing. Highly recommend.

This majestic building is a particularly good place for a history lesson, so see it with a guide. The inside is very attractive and stylish.

This would be a better destination on a weekend/holiday or during their summer season. We went during their winter. There were all of 5 people there when we arrived, including a guy sleeping (?) at the water's edge. (We weren't sure he was alive!) Anyway, no one to offer boat rides, rent beach bikes or sell food/drinks. The sand was a nice texture, not powdery or dirty. I'm not sure if swimming was allowed or not. We weren't there to swim. Volleyball net was up. New, wide sidewalk for strolling along and a short distance away was the #Yo-heart-ASU sign in large letters for a photo op. We were hoping to see capybara but no such luck from the beach. Pretty enough and easy to get dropped off or picked up by a ride there.

Right in the heart of the city, this is definitely one of the most beautiful churches in Asunción. This is also the only church/Cathedral that had two towers!

My guide took me there for an hour, and debriefed me on the history of Asunción. There were so many artifacts there, as well as a ton of Paraguay historical significance.

This place is a bit of history in itself, and one of the most beautiful old buildings still in use in Asuncion. The rooms are all round the courtyard, and as you would expect have enormously high ceilings, gigantic double doors, tiled floors and enormous heavy dark wood furniture. the hotel has a really beautiful pool and terrace area, but it was not in use in the rainy season. And no wonder, when i was here there were gigantic electric storms every night, so i sat dry outside my room and watched the rain and the lightning...it was just brilliant. Its about a 25 minute walk to Palacio Lopez and the historic heart, but its worth it to stay here, and no where walking round here did i feel threatened or scared. Im a woman travelling alone in her 60s and i do think the staff, while they were friendly enough, quite obviously thought i was mad as a jar of flies. Maybe they are right, as i have never met another person who has been to Paraguay.

This building is absolutely beautiful, and stands tall in the heart of a square that has a ton of homeless people living there. The pink color design on the blue sky background just adds to it's beauty!

This is the main artery of Asunción, and I realized why while driving down on it. There are so many cool historical houses and buildings on each side, as this is where all the rich people moved to back in the days.
