- Asmat U10 contributionsMount Monserrate in Bogotá offers stunning views, a historic church, and a peaceful escape.it's a must-see spot for nature and culture lovers.Written November 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MelissaSugar Land, TX320 contributionsAmazing! A MUST DO / SEE in Bogota! We went on a Sunday when it is free for everyone, I would suggest a different day.
The museum is beautiful, laid out well, with signage in English and Spanish. I wish we would have gotten the audio guide but they were sold out. If there is an opportunity to reserve that in advance, do it.
The museum has large arrows that helps you navigate the order. You can take photos everywhere of the beautiful art. It's located close to great restaurants and other attractions, so make sure to go!Written December 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It helps to know some Spanish to understand more from the descriptions. I also bought a guidebook in English at the souvenir shop. Even though we went during the weekend, when it is free, the number of visitors was quite manageable, so we were lucky. Nice visit for a rainy day, not sure if a must though.Written October 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travelaround59London, UK2,032 contributionsOur hotel (Hip and Trendy according to our travel agent!) happen to be in this area so we walked around and is a very nice area with galleries and bars and restaurants and an overall nice vibe. I think is nice to stay in a different area from the more touristy just to try to get the feeling of a city.Written February 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Graham CampbellWashington DC, DC247 contributionsThis is an oasis of beauty and calm in Bogota, where it seems horns are the official soundtrack of the city. It's incredibly cheap to enter and there's plenty of places to sit and relax. The rose garden was beautiful and all of the grounds are incredibly well kept. Just know there's very little English translation, but it's pretty plants and trees so it's not as crucial.
Tip: Entry to the park is very cheap. There's a significant upcharge for the Tropicario which is a building with 6 different biodomes of different plants. You can skip this. It's fine, but we didn't think it was worth the upcharge and it's super humid.Written September 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I'd recommend going on a sunny day so you can see the plaza framed by a backdrop of dramatic mountain views.
It's worth walking up Calle Septima, the main walking street, and looking at all the vendors selling their wares on the way in. Just watch out for pickpockets and the usual scams that abound in Bogota.
The plaza itself doesn't take long to see. And you can even do it with one of the many free walking tours on offer. Do checkout the cathedral while you're there. And consider also visiting the police museum just off the plaza.Written October 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ana-Maria BCluj-Napoca, Romania1,388 contributionsAbsolutely gorgeous artwork inside, could not stop looking at it. Interesting history too. The only odd thing was some sort of temporary exhibit that seemed to present some sort of foot fetish. While this is no longer a church and I am not religious, still found it very off. Better let the beauty of the place tell the story.Written October 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DianaDenver, CO2 contributionsWe were pretty lucky to find a bike with a child's seat at our closest Tembici hub. We rode from 70 up to Usaquen in a light sprinkle. It started to rain harder while we were in Usaquen so we tried to wait it out to no avail. We ended up purchasing a poncho and rain jacket at the Hacienda de Santa Barbara mall and rode back down in the rain. It was an awesome experience and we're so happy we got to be there on a Sunday to experience this!Written June 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
