What travelers are saying
- Kaiser_DHouston, TX424 contributionsThis is another of the must-experience sites in Bogota. All of my pre-travel discussions with people who had visited the city included exhortation to visit this museum.
There were quite a few screening areas with creative videos. Not much seating in the rooms, but each of them added to the rich history of the people, trades, and minerals and ores found in Colombia. The information found in the exhibits, artwork, and sculptures goes well beyond simple mining and extraction information. This museum shares a glimpse into the geographic and natural phenomenon of Colombia, insights about various tribes, and much more.
Security takes their job seriously, so leave your larger bags if possible. There are audio devices available; I didn't use them, but it sounded like there were multiple languages offered through these devices to explain each of the exhibits.Written August 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of police along the journey made it feel extremely safe.Written August 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ruth BRoyal Tunbridge Wells, UK361 contributionsThis was a great surprise - completely free and full of wonderful works of art, absolutely fabulous. A beautiful building to wonder through as well. Definitely go.Written August 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- B d AAthens, Greece804 contributionsThe centre of Bogota has been molested for various reasons, socio-cultural-economic and that splashes on the impoverishment of the idyllic historic centre. The "vendedores ambulantes" effect is smothering especially in the centre proper and the Plaza Bolivar, the fallen idol. Candellaria offers first class museums, some building structures that are not taken over by the glossy picturesque, a sense of the uphill theatricity of the town an fine churchesWritten August 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - B d AAthens, Greece804 contributionsA botanic garden in the 4.66th parallel and an altitude, with the tropical arboreta that we failed to visit and admired in vitro- the climatic green houses, the rosaries and a serene variety that we adequately labelled but not generously for the non spanish speaker. A pride of the town, unique at least in Colombia. Extraordinary for the alpine tundra terrains too (the Páramo eco habitat), the orchideum, the good care that it has been taken care and the ciudad location- you have Parque Bolivar near and the Salmona library. A necessary stop even for the reserved and not aficionado. A cool time and a clear day preferably and devote time.Written August 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brix510San Jose, CA951 contributionsThis place is the LARGEST and one of the cheapest fruit markets i've ever been to. It has the largest flower vendors area i've ever seen and the flowers are insanely cheap. Well worth a trip out and give yourself at least 1-2 hours to check out the beauty and taste all the fruit and food thereWritten August 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brix510San Jose, CA951 contributionsColombia's national museum is VERY beautiful and they have organized it and restored it to a nice cultural center that is lovely in architecture and art pieces. Well worth the $1 or 4000 COP price to enter!Written August 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Brix510San Jose, CA951 contributionsThis place is very big and very nice - huge lake at the center and close to the public library of BogotaWritten August 8, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sj75201Gold Coast, Australia111 contributionsThe markets are cool, but I think I walked around them like 4 times.
Do make note that the city shuts down a bunch of the roads on a Sunday for bike riding, so traffic can be a bit long getting to and from.
Overall markets were cool, but a lot sell the same stuff. Number of restaurants in the area, but around 1pm they all had lines to get in.Written July 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's a really nice park and the area is very safe. They were running an event at the park during one of the days we were there and it looked very lively!
The shops and restaurants around the park are all great and I can see it being a nice outing during the weekend.Written June 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - B d AAthens, Greece804 contributionsThe view, the undulating road, the flora, the quietness. We did not attend Montserrat for that reason- a. our limited interest in creed anthology and the crowds. We still view serenity as a serendipitous event in tourism. Without becoming didactic that is what has been lost through social media, nomadic events and so on. The views of the altiplanic lake which is the setting on the Bogota Savana, the depth of the field and the structure of this town offered excellent vistas. Now the surrounding structures and there state of being is another matter. A different form of poetry of neglect versus poetry of abuse.Written July 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - B d AAthens, Greece804 contributionsBolivar was a Venezuelan poly-patriot as we say polymath. He thought that a man exudes gunpowder, cologne and tobacco and he somehow projectionally proved it. Over here at the "foot of the Monserrat 'Hill' " we have his abode. Verdant, luscious and without the slightest of the vernacular. All imported from the country of our provenance and its associated forms. Rooms with materials but also the room for his closest butler. Overall a very decent house at the edge of the town.Written July 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
