... considerably; it was an incredible opportunity to work closely with a big cat - a lifelong dream for me, as well as presenting me with another way to learn about and get to know the beautiful country of Bolivia.
I spent 6 weeks in a beautiful country caring for incredible animals; pumas, jaguars, ocelots, pios, a baby howler monkey... and so many more.
For those willing to spend more time, Aquicana reserve offers an incredible opportunity for animal watching, hiking, learning about plant uses from experienced guides, and even studying tribal languages.
I spent delicious moments in the reserve whether in the morning to watch the sunrise, during the hike, during the boat tour or in the evening to watch the bird ballet chasing insects and fishing in the lake.
We saw flamingos, turtles, tortoises, a fox, an osolot, squirrel monkeys, toucans, peacocks, parrots and lots of other birds.
Besides seeing the animals, the opportunity to hear the stories about different animals and where they where rescued from is eye opening and makes you appreciate the efforts that this nature park makes.
