What travelers are saying
- Zara MSwindon, UK16 contributionsFirst things first, if you are female and have anything other than face, hands and feet uncovered, be prepared to buy something to cover up before you can enter the Grand Mosque. Fortunately I had done my research so made sure I was dressed appropriately and had a scarf in my bag so I could cover my hair. There is no charge to visit the Mosque so I would have hated to have to spend money on clothing that I may never need to wear again.
We visited on Tuesday 10/05/22 and since we were there in good time decided to wait a few minutes for the free 10am guided tour. We later learned that this is definitely the best way to see the Mosque and we were lucky enough to be the only two people there, so had our own private tour. Our guide was Mariam (apologies if I haven't spelled that right!) and I can't praise and thank her highly enough. She was funny and engaging, but also very knowledgeable about the Mosque and its construction. She also helped us to better understand Islam which, I think, is important for everyone.
If you only do one thing in Abu Dhabi, visit the Grand Mosque which is absolutely stunning, and take the guided tour to really get the most out of your visit. We realised later that the tour gives you access to areas other visitors can only see as part of a crowd from the outside. You'll also learn so much about the building itself and Islamic culture.
Special thanks again to Mariam for making our visit so special and memorableWritten May 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Mercy JohnKochi (Cochin), India65 contributionsBeautiful hotel. The decor is awesome. Best paintings and ambiance. The opulence of the oil rich country is visible here.Written March 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Aloha_is_sharing_HaSaratoga, CA8 contributionsThe is by far the best place that I have watched a Formula 1 race so far. However, I am looking forward to Las Vegas. One day, maybe Laguna Seca in Monterey, California will make the list.Written May 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- James B5 contributionsThere is plenty to see along the Corniche; there are bikes for you to rent at the corners and it is very safe to walk along at any time. Would love to stay around here.Written May 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- michaeltholeBad Schwartau, Germany627 contributionsThe visit of Qasr AL Watan was amazing. What a splendor! Jewels everywhere, we did not know at what we should look at first. - Ben HCorte Madera, CA30 contributionsAbsolutely the best thing we did in Abu Dhabi, hands down. If you have any desire to learn more about Falcons and Falconry this is a must-do. Our guide, Hassan, was incredibly knowledgeable but just as importantly, funny! He was able to keep a crowd that spoke at least four different languages, engaged for the entire tour. It was amazing to be up close and personal to witness a bird “pedicure” and also to watch a feeding from very close up. Even watching a surgery in action was amazing and shows how much these birds are really cared for.
I can’t say it enough: do this tour!Written April 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Elmeer2 contributionsThe hotel Is pretty and has a great ambiance, the staff is really friendly and sweet they offer help and smile all time, very welcoming.

- Rachel027Bristol16 contributionsAs the oldest building in Abu Dhabi this restored fort is a reminder of just how fast this city has grown. There is a picture in one of the upstairs rooms of the fort when it was built - it is the only substantial building surrounded by desert. Today, it is surrounded by skyscrapers and shopping malls. We visited on a quiet evening and really appreciated the chance to take our time. The exhibits and displays are all quite personal and relate to the ruling family. Anecdotes and stories brought the city’s development to life for me.Written December 23, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ssstevegHaifa, Israel1,572 contributionsHeritage Village is a recreated traditional village, oasis, and market located right on the water's edge. This was not on our bucket list, but our driver suggested we visit as we had a few minutes to spare. It's a family friendly place, good for a short visit. We came, we saw, we took a picture or 2, and went on our way.Written February 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Simon Art Teach... JAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates68 contributionsOkay. . .I love this place. Comic Con, Custom Car Expo and the Hunting and Equestrian show (camping gear). The access to parking is easy and the communal spaces are huge. - LainBrisbane, Australia65 contributionsLearning the history of the founder of Abu Dhabi and the UAE is really interesting but what is amazing about this memorial is the artistry.
How it is made up of 1327 geometric shapes on 1110 cables to create the image of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
It’s definitely worth a stop and a moment to take it in.Written April 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - ssstevegHaifa, Israel1,572 contributionsThe traditional date market was on our guided tour program, so we visited. I don't even like dates, and our expectations were low. However, we enjoyed the visit and even bought some dates, and some traditional middle eastern sweets (baklava and similar things) which were mostly imported from neighboring countries. The dates (from Saudi Arabia) were delicious.Written February 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
