- Nigel SPrinces Risborough, UK1,380 contributionsThe camel tracing track,is approx 30 minutes from Waldorf Astoria by taxi, the racing starts at 6am and lasts for approx 3 hours. It is very casual and you can wander around the starting area and get very close to the camels, the locals were very hospitable and took time to explain what was happening and the procedures, I believe our wives were the only women present and everyone was very friendly to them. No grandstand or seating, you literally follow on the road alongside the track as the camels race and each race is approx 8 k.

We were lucky as 5 countries were on hand for the races. There must have been 1000+ camels. We went to the stands which had close circuit TV's so you could watch the whole race as it is quite long. There were free soft drinks and snacks. There were only a couple other people in the stands. Then we went over to the other section and mingled with the camels and handlers. Everyone was friendly and it was one of the best things we did in Dubai. A must do if in Dubai. It is FREE.Written March 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
