Staff was not too eager to give us a tour and it was ok as we got more time for ourselves. Only opened afternoons 2.30 to 4.30. - Shahab GhazizadehTehran, Iran76 contributionsThis magnificent church was built in 1606 AD by Armenian-Iranians who fled from the warzone of Safavid Iran and Ottoman Anatolia into the Iran's then-capital, Isfahan. It is located on Jolfa (named after original Julfa) on the right bank of Zayande Rood. You will find illuminated frescoes done by Armenian craftsmen about Biblical stories, under the huge Islamic-style dome. There is an adjacent museum, mostly dedicated to Armenian heritage and also christianity as a whole; tiniest printed book and words on a piece of hair! Enjoy your time by strolling around Jolfa too.Written January 6, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
